Adventurous By Mona Pendleton
Let’s start out today with a gorgeous layout designed by the very talented Mona Pendleton. This was a layout created from a challenge of using a selfie photo to describe more than words can say. I myself am not a selfie taker; whenever I have tried it out, I really cringed with the results. My daughters will pull me into their selfies occasionally, and since I love being photographed with them, those are the selfies that turn out the best. How many times do we scrapbook other people and rarely have any layouts of ourselves? Selfies do make for the most hysterically funny and personal images and really show off personalities, so I loved seeing this layout from Mona.
Mona’s layout is amazing as she used Prima texture paste and a variety of inks for her background. Adding a combination of Prima flowers and die cut leaves really gave the layout some great dimension. Think of all of the possibilities you can come up with using texture paste and inks, it is just one unique background after another! If you haven’t spent time recently on Mona’s fabulous blog, click here and I will take you over. You’re sure to leave inspired to start on your next project. Have fun experimenting. 🙂
Butterfly Inspiration By Amy Sheffer
Are you one that likes to keep your projects clean and simple? Have you ever come across a template or die cut and wondered just how you could incorporate it into your project? Today I want to share a darling card that is clean, simple, and very colorful. This is a great way to get away from those winter blues. Remember, spring is just around the corner!
Amy Sheffer created this darling card using the Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate and Bitty Butterflies stamp set. She die-cut the cover plate, then stamped the butterfly cut-outs in different colors. Pulling the wings forward gave the card some dimension. Be sure to stop by Pickled Paper Designs to get your butterfly inspiration. Amy will give you some great ideas and a punch of inspiration to get you started!
Love You By Melissa Phillips
It is always important to have inspiration around us to remind us to be creative. This is exactly what Melissa Phillips does every time I go to her blog. She is so inspiring and always portrays such beautiful and amazing ideas. Today I want to share with you one of her outstanding masterpieces that I know will inspire you.
Melissa created the background for her card by using several stamps from Papertrey Ink such as the Sheet Music stamp set along with the Keep It Simple Love mini stamp set. I love the way this gives some personality to her card. Don’t you just love the fresh look of her sweet card? It is amazing what a cheerful card can do! Whether your style is vintage or simple and clean, you will be amazed how creative you can be with the supplies you have laying around in your stash. Pull out some of your favorite treasures and don’t be afraid to mix and match whatever you have.
Re-purposed Sweater Pillows By Cami
I think you are really going to enjoy today’s inspiration piece. I really wanted to share this with you because I think these are so fun and what a great way to use an old sweater. Don’t give your old sweaters to the thrift store before you see which ones will turn into a classic pillow. Once you find the perfect sweater, you will need either a pillow form or some sort of fiber-fill stuffing. You can even cut up old pillows and re-purpose the filling for a new pillow. This project can be done super cheap!
What a fun way to make your home more cozy in the winter. Wouldn’t these be perfect for a treasured gift? Click here and I will take you over to Tidbits where Cami will give you step-by-step instructions. All you have to do is search for that perfect sweater to make your own one-of-a-kind pillow. Happy crafting!
