Scrapbooking Within a Collection

Becki-Adams-headerGood afternoon, friends. Becki here for another edition of Inspiration Station. This is my favorite week of Inspiration Station because I get to share with you a scrapbook layout. This week we’re talking about scrapbooking within a collection. As much as I love to mix and match my scrapbooking products, it’s easiest for me to stay within one collection to create a layout. I have a couple of tips that help me scrapbook using one collection while staying within my own style and desire to create something unique. The collection I’m working with today is the Attwell collection by Fancy Pants.

Tip #1: Use a die cutting machine to create a unique title (I used the Silhouette Cameo and THIS cut file). The letter stickers that come with the collection are so adorable but small, and I wanted a big bold title, so I created a large title with my Cameo and then used the smaller letter stickers for one word of the title.

Tip #2: Use your punches! By using a notebook edge punch, I created an awesome border that created interest and texture to the border between my title and my photos.

I couldn’t finish this layout without adding some machine stitching! I love to sew over my letter stickers because stitching over them adds texture and also makes sure that the stickers stay in place.

The last thing I did before this layout was complete was add the date stamp and a little bit of embellishment next to my journaling block.

Do you prefer creating layouts using products from one collection or do you prefer to mix and match your products? Let me know in the comments. I LOVE to hear about others creative processes. Thanks for stopping by today! I look forward to seeing you next Thursday.
