Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Paige Kit

Paige-technique-header

One of the products in my two collections with Pink Paislee (Fancy Free & Take Me Away) is called a Paige Kit and they are simple kits that allow you to build an entire layout within a few minutes – but it looks like it took hours! Today I’m sharing the layout made with the Take Me Away Paige Kit (you can find it here: http://www.pinkpaisleestore.com/default.aspx?PageID=829&CategoryID=971&ProductID=17533&RootCatCode=06000) along with a YouTube process video so you can see just how simple it really is!

THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE WITH YOU IN IT by Paige Evans

Everything that you see here (with the small exception of the photos, pen, and sewing machine) can be found in the Paige Kit, so the die cut background, patterned paper, patterned transparency bits, die cuts, and foam adhesive!

To stretch the flower die cut even further, I cut it in half and mirrored them on the top and bottom edges.

I used a pair of black & white photos so they would pop against the colorful background.

By adhering the die cut background with the included foam adhesive, shadows are created which gives the allusion of depth – since paper and die cuts are so flat, it’s a fun design element to add those dimension and shadows to create texture!

Look carefully and you will see some of the letters are backed with patterned transparencies – these are included in the kit and can be used to create even more interest in some of the letters!

Here is the process video showing exactly what’s in the kit and how this layout came together in no time at all:

Thanks for joining me today and learning how to use the Paige Kits! See you again soon, have a great rest of the week!
