Tie Closure Birthday Card

Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a card I created with a fun tie closure.

First, I started with an 8 1/2 x 11″ piece of cardstock, my paper trimmer, and a scoring blade.

I scored the one end of the cardstock panel at the 3 1/2″ mark.

I turned the panel and scored the other end at the 2″ mark.

I then folded the ends in towards the center of the card.

I wanted the flaps to look like tags, so I trimmed off each of the corners.roree-rumph_tie-closure_birthday_card_step5
I decorated the outside flaps with patterned paper from Echo Park Paper Co.‘s Party Time 6×6 Paper Pad and punched a hole at the end of each flap.

I then decorated the inside of the card with more patterned paper, stickers from the Party Time Element and Alpha Sticker sheets, and a few epoxy stickers.

I added a couple of eyelets to the punched holes, threaded them with gingham ribbon, added a tag using more stickers from the Element and Alpha Sticker sheets, and tied a bow to finish the card.

A fun take on a standard A2-sized card, don’t you think?

I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thanks, Mary! The card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ finished. The cardstock was cut to 4 1/4 x 11″. The patterned paper on the front and on the inside was cut to 4 x 5 1/4″. Hope that helps!
