Hey everyone! Roree here with today’s Make It! Monday post.
Sadly the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo shows for this year are over, but the inspiration continues! Today I am going to be creating with products from our last six Latest & Greatest: Cool Tools class: Crafter Depot‘s Vinyl & Tool sampler.
If you took this class, you received the following sampler kit:
This kit contained a great mix of vinyl products carried by Crafter Depot, a Silhouette weeder tool, and Crafter Depot squeegee tool.
With this sampler kit, I created this intricately-cut seasonal card:
Vinyl is such a fun medium to work with. I love that there is no adhesive to add, so all I have to do is transfer the cut to my surface. And because you transfer your image with tape, there is no shifting or movement of the cut. It transfers to the surface the same way it’s picked it up. (Not always the case with paper.)
First, I cut out the image (Harvest Blessings from Cricut’s Intricate Seasonal Art cartridge) from Oracal 631 matte vinyl in Espresso and weeded the excess vinyl with the weeder tool.
I picked up my image with Gridded Transfer Tape and transferred it to a piece of clear film.
This cut is not for the faint of heart. All of that detail takes a lot of time to weed out. I just wanted to show you that even these very detailed cuts are easy to transfer.
I then added the cut to a card and added minimal embellishments to finish.
For those of you that haven’t played with vinyl yet, you really need to try it. There are so many things you can do with it!
I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
