Hello, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. I just returned home from our Chicago show and I am happy to report that a fun time was had by all. I’d like to send a huge note of thanks to all those creative souls that I had the opportunity to meet in person; you really made it a wonderful show.
City On The Square By Lucy
I must confess, I do have a soft spot for a nice city scape, it must be the New Yorker in me. I love how Lucy arranged the buildings by size to create the illusion of depth – so clever. The buildings were die cut using the Tim Holtz Cityscape Buildings then colored using Distress Oxides To achieve the proper perspective of the city, Lucy drew a set of squares increasing in size by 1/2″ increments, cut the centers out, painted them different colors from dark receding to light. Talk about an eye for detail – this project is definitely on my crafting bucket list.

Don’t you just love how the Wonky Rectangles Frame Die adds lots of visual interest to the background of this precious baby card? What a bonus that you don’t even have to break out the sewing machine, the die adds the detail for you. Keep in mind that it would be very easy to change the card to accommodate the little boys in your life simply by changing the color combination.

With a little help from the culinary genius over on the Kitchme Blog you, too, can have a delicious meal on the table in less than 1/2 an hour. If you think about it, it takes longer to order a pizza and this Mahi Mahi is much healthier and is sure to impress even your pickiest guests. All you have to do is add your favorite vegetable and you’re good to go.
