Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Flowers

Paige-technique-header

I have featured flowers once or twice before (maybe even three of four times!) on this here Technique Spotlight, but what can I say except I LOVE FLOWERS! I could probably add a flower onto every.single.project I create. Here are a few layouts I’ve made recently prominently featuring flowers:

EPIC AWESOME LOVE by Paige Evans

On this layout I die cut a floral background from rainbow paper and then cut apart the flowers, backed them with vellum, stitched matching colored thread over them, and layered them onto a mixed media background. All using the beautiful Reflection collection by Altenew.

GHAR DALAM by Paige Evans

This layout uses a cut file by the talented Bea Valint. I love how dimensional it is! The background does all of the hard work for me so all I did was back it with a floral patterned paper and embellish the center of each flower with a little somethin’ somethin’.

HALLO LIEBE by Paige Evans

Hallo Liebe means Hello Love in German 🙂 I absolutely love fussy cutting flowers and then using them as embellishments on my pages! Here I used the Aloha collection by Jessica Fabiano for Scrapbook Werkstatt.

THUMBS UP by Paige Evans

One of my favorite techniques (it never gets old!) is backing cut files with all kinds of patterned papers. This tropical flower cut file is by Kerri Bradford and then I backed all the petals, stems, and leaves with 6×6 papers from my Pink Paislee collection called Oh My Heart.
