Washi Tape Title Card

Hey, everyone! Roree here with a Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a tip for sheer washi tape.

I decided to pull out an old sampler kit from a 2015 Latest & Greatest: Pocket Scrapbooking workshop featuring Pink Paislee‘s Cedar Lane collection. The kit contained a few patterned papers, ephemera, and washi tape. The washi came in a Washi Shapes book with adorable shapes, prints and sentiments.

With it, I created this card:

I hand cut the wreath shape from a 4×6 card on the Market Square patterned paper, and I embellished the wreath with cute die cuts from the Ephemera pack.

I found a cute washi sentiment and when I added it to my card base, the sentiment got a little bit lost in the pattern of my background paper.

Luckily, washi tape is pretty forgiving and I was able to remove it from my card without any issues. But I needed to find a fix for the sheerness of the tape. Instead of finding a different sentiment, I added a piece of white cardstock, cut to size, to the back of the washi strip.

The solid white background made the sentiment stand out and gave it a little bit of dimension. It had a similar look and feel of a cardstock sticker.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks so much for stopping by!
