April showers of card making did bring May cards full of flowers and love for moms. Flowers were a strong theme this year as we got ready to celebrate our moms. Spring is a time for new beginnings and we found a lot of new beginning card markers at our show in Orlando this year. You can tell from the smiles on the faces of our new card makers that they love the swaps and learning about new ideas and techniques, along with gaining a few new card making friends. We also began celebrating the fun of summer with some amazing cards with a summer theme. Enjoy taking a look at these great cards featuring moms and summer fun.
Deb Russell, who calls herself the Spellbinders lady for having such a huge selection of those great dies from Spellbinders, created another amazing card this year featuring a “Mom’ theme. Just take a look at this Tea Cup card in honor of her mom who was an avid tea drinker. She included a very special sentiment titled “A Mother.” This is such a great way to honor a loved one and show the passion you have for sharing traditions and remembering mom. This card is titled on the spoon “A Tea-riffic Mom.” Deb was our “Most Appreciated Card” winner from our Friday swap in Orlando.
Next we have our Summer Fun card created by Annie Yip, a brand new card maker, and just take a look at this card! This “Life’s A Beach” card features a summer surfer riding the waves, and as you pull on the tab at the right it reveals the sentiment “Enjoy the Waves.” That is so true of all of us, sometimes we just have to ride out the waves of life and all is OK in the end. So have a very happy summer and ride the waves! Annie was our “Most Appreciated” Card winner from the card swap in Orlando on Saturday
My June Blog will feature the five winning cards from our Most Appreciated Card contest in Milwaukee. Just wait until you see the card creations from the Midwest card makers that we will be featuring.
Happy spring and happy card making!
