Here at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo, we think it is important to provide you with all the resources possible for you to be able to continue to shop and crop locally after the show is gone. We try to provide a list of local stores in our show guide as well as reaching out to local stores to have a booth on our show floor. But did you know that we even reach out to local stores to come into the crop in the evening and host a make and take? Yep! At almost every show we have either a local store or even a retreat house come into the crop and host a variety of make and takes. Why, you ask? Because building a relationship with a store that is local is important to the crafting community.
During the crop, make sure to take a break and come create a fun project. These pictures are from our Denver Expo, and a local store from the Denver area came out and did a wonderful Christmas card make and take.
The majority of the time you will learn a new technique. Nothing is better than expanding your crafty knowledge of both techniques and products.
The stores will often have products to sell or even extra make and take kits if you want to purchase them. Do you see the coupon they gave out for use at their store for a later date? That is one heck of a bonus!
My favorite part of the stores coming into the crop for the make and takes is the one-on-one time you get with the people from that store. Now is your time to ask questions about the projects, get to know the employees of the store a little better, or ask what the store has to offer. (You could find out that they hold crops and classes!)
Our local stores are in our crops only on Friday and Saturday evenings and you have to be a cropper to participate in their offerings. Sometimes it could be a make and take, sometimes it could be products they are selling, sometimes it could be both! When you come to a crop at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo we want you to make lasting friendships with the croppers around you as well as your local stores.
Do you know of a local store that you would love to see at one of our crops? Make sure to let us know; we would love to hear about them. This local store in Colorado is called Affordable Scrapbooking. If you are ever in the Aurora, Colorado area drop in; they would love to meet you!
See you at the crop!
Tina
Do you have a list of the local stores for each area that have participated? I would love to know which local stores are around New Jersey other than the regular big box stores. Can’t wait to go to the Expo again this year in August.
Hi Dawn, Paper Anthology is a wonderful store in Kenvil, NJ. Elisabeth is the owner and she had a booth at the show last year in Edison. Check out her website http://www.paperanthology.com and go check out her store! Can wait to see you in August!
These cards were fun to make. The ladies were so friendly. I live 4 hours from Denver but my friend and I are making plans to go and spend the day at there store maybe take a class. Can’t wait for next year
I would love to go to an Expo here in Illinois but there is only one across the state by Chicago. I am almost 70 and can’t go that far by myself. I wish you could have one in the Quad Cities. You have 5 in California. I am a Texan so I went to one in Texas near Dallas.
The store above for the Denver Expo was Affordable Scrapbooking and they are the nicest people. They have a crop the first weekend of every month and card classes during the month. Check them out, they really are a lot of fun.
