Gone Fishing By Alicia Mcnamara
Do you have a tendency to struggle a bit when it comes to creating the perfect masculine projects, or is it just me? I would like to think that I am not alone on this one. This is a perfect layout for any age. The denim pockets certainly give it that little bit of grunge for a masculine feel! I don’t know why it is, but I usually tend to use much more technique work when it comes to my masculine layouts. This layout has lots of technique work on it such as fussy cutting, ink misting, and sticker sheet borders, but most of all, it is all about the placement of the embellishments.
Today’s layout is fun and captures the contagious smile on this guy’s face. The title says it all: “Gone Fishing!” Let me escort you on over to Paper Craft Secrets where Alicia will give you all the steps you need to create this fun and masculine layout. Click here to see a video tutorial on every step that Alicia took to create her layout. You can also see a PDF of all the instructions to print out for yourself. Never be afraid to try something different. Have fun creating, my friends!
Taking A Walk By Peet Roeven
Just when you think you have spent enough money on stamps another adorable one comes out (yes, again!) and you get inspired with the latest one. This adorable Parisian Stroll stamp from Penny Black stamps is one that is a must-have! I love how this lady is strolling along with her umbrella, and the coloring from Peet Roeven is absolutely beautiful!
Peet added a bit of shading to her background then added the Scrolls Half Edger die in her background to pop out the lovely lady. The Parade of Flowers stamp was also colored and fussy cut to give some dimension to her card. This can be used for any occasion and the one who receives it will be over-the-top thrilled to receive such a fun and adorable card. A handmade card means more to people than you may realize and will always be treasured. A big thank you goes out to Peet for sharing her outstanding talent with us.
Watercolored Die Cuts By Debby Hughs
Today we have Debby showing us some techniques on how to take die cut images to a new level of watercoloring. First of all, Debby used the Classic Bicycle die from Simon Says Stamp and combined it with the Mini Flowers & Leaves dies to create a cascade of flowers flowing from the bicycle basket. Debby lightly watercolored the background and die cut the panel before adhering it to the card base.
Debby watercolored layers of color on her bicycle then splattered with spare paint. Layering the flowers and popping up the bicycle really gives this card a lot of dimension, making it look as if it were 3D. Click here and I will be happy to take you over to Debby’s full tutorial on how to create this fabulous card. Be spot-on with your watercoloring skills by watching Debby’s video and her wonderful techniques!
