Saturdays With LeAnn

Hello, all my fellow creatives!  LeAnn here with you today on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.  Happy Saturday to you all and welcome back for another dose of creative planning fun!  I hope you are all having an awesome August.  Many of you have your children back to school already and are on a regular routine now.  This hopefully will give you a few more hours in a day to take time to create and do what you love to do.  I have some really fun projects to share with you today and hope you will be inspired and have some fun playing in your craft room!

Collage Style Layout By Bea Valint

Have you ever taken the plunge and created a collage layout?  Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin on a new project.  Start by placing a few items on your page; this will help your mind turn to a creative mode and will help you get started on a fabulous layout.  Bea has done it again, she never ceases to amaze me with her fun and creative layouts.  Even with all that is going on with the perfectly placed layers, your eye is automatically drawn to the photo first and then to those fun layers.

Bea wanted to layer ephemera pieces and stickers from her collection to add to the background.  I have to say Bea is truly the queen of layering and I highly recommend popping on over to her blog My Shiny Studio to check out all of the steps and techniques Bea used to create this piece of art.  You will leave feeling very inspired and ready to create many more layouts!

Hello By Jessica Frost Ballas

Today we have Jessica showing us some techniques on how to take stamped images to a new level of watercoloring with watercolor markers.  After using several colors to capture the look she was going for, she then added a few accents with a black glaze pen and white gel pen.  To create the background, Jessica used some Copic pens and Pinata brass metallic ink, along with adding a few extra gold accents using liquid adhesive and gold flake.  She then adhered the flower and sentiment with foam mounting tape and finished the card with a few gold sequins.

Those who know me, know how much I love a beautiful background and this one certainly captured my eye.  Don’t you just love the marbled background technique?  Jessica’s alcohol ink background is perfect to set off her beautifully colored flower.  The gold is just the right finishing touch.  For all of the products that Jessica used, please click here and I will escort you over to All The Sparkle.  Watercoloring and playing with alcohol inks will soon be your favorite coloring mediums!  Have so much fun experimenting to see what other things you can create.

Brush Bin By Marleen van Meerendonk

The Brush Bin is a great way to protect the investment in your brushes, not to mention how this will organize the tools in your craft room.  If you are one that loves to stencil and stamp, then this will be fun for you to create.  With a few stamped images and some stenciled designs, you can create your very own personalized Brush Bin.  Who says storage needs to be boring?

This Brush Bin is made out of Leather Paper so it is super easy to stamp on and add color to.  If you would like to create one of these fabulous bins for your brushes, I suggest visiting Marleen at Art Anthology where you can find all the materials that you will need to get started.  Be sure to look around the blog because you will be so uplifted by the talent.  This is one of those crafts that you must give it a try, I know you will love the end result.

No Bake Cherry Cheesecake BY Glory Albin

No Bake Cherry Cheesecake dessert is the perfect way to celebrate summer!  Not only will the presentation in jars be unique, but they are quite the showpiece and the individual servings make it a snap to serve.  You will love the easy prep that can be done in advance.  It is the best unbaked cherry cheesecake ever, and not to mention the taste… delicious!

This will become a favorite that you will want to make throughout the year.  Get your paper and pen ready to jot down this easy yet amazing recipe.  This is one you will definitely want to share with your friends.  Let’s pop on over to Glorious Treats where you will see all the steps it takes to make these.  Enjoy!

I hope you have been inspired today and found some great ideas for a fun crafting day!  Be sure to visit the individual blogs that I have shared so you can see more details on these fabulous projects.  I hope you are enjoying this beautiful summer weather.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I appreciate you taking some time out of your busy schedule to share it with me.  See you back real soon!
