Sundays With Lorraine

Hello my crafty friends, and welcome back to another week on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.  I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Sunday and that you are ready for today’s creative therapy.  With planners and Traveler’s Notebooks on everyone’s crafting bucket list, I thought you might be inspired by the following projects.  After the busy week that you’ve just survived, you deserve a little creative time to unwind.

Take Your Traveler’s Notebook Traveling by Cara Vincens

A Traveler’s Notebook is the perfect place to plan and document your travels, that’s what it was originally intended for!  Not that we are limited to using a TN for just travel!  You can keep one for your family activities, one for your health and wellness, one with photos, etc.  The possibilities are endless!  Using them for travel really speaks to me since I live on the road half the year.  Cara used Simple Stories’ Simple Vintage Traveler line which, as you can see, is perfect to document your travels.

Whether you are new to Traveler’s Notebooks or are a seasoned professional, you’re going to love Cara’s short video, she has lots of fun tips to share.  With a little help from Cara and the amazing Simple Stories Collections, creating the perfect Traveler’s Notebook is a breeze.

Printable 2019 Planner Pages by Ashley/The Handmade Home

I recently discovered a new blog, The Handmade Home, and I immediately knew I had to share the love.  Talk about inspiration at it’s finest!  The blog is hosted by the sweetest couple, Ashley and Jamin, and they are happy to share tips on everything from amazing DIY home improvement projects to designing the perfect planner.  Each year they offer free printables so that we can also create the perfect planners to keep our lives on track.

Whether you are looking to take on a few DIY projects or are looking for some serious inspiration for your day-to-day planners, you are going to love spending some creative time with Ashley and Jamin.  Click here and I will be happy to take you over for a visit.

A Cup Of Good Cheer by Lorraine Loft

Today’s creative therapy wouldn’t be complete without a cute card to inspire you to send out one of your handmade treasures.  Many of you know that I am a true cat lover and what’s not to love about this sweet card?  Lorraine used a new stamp titled Feline Cup Cling Stamp, designed by the super talented Laurel Burch for Stampendous.  I love Laurel’s fun and festive images, they are so much fun to color.  Lorraine broke out her Copic Markers but feel free to use your favorite coloring medium.

I highly recommend stopping by Lorraine’s Loft anytime you need a little creative push, Lorraine is a true inspiration to her fellow paper crafters.

Firecracker Chicken from Simply Recipes

There is a reason that this recipe is so popular, it’s sweet and spicy sauce is amazing.  You can serve it over rice or salad greens or my personal favorite is over Lo Mein that I pick up at Costco.  With a little help from our friends over on the Simply Recipe blog you can have this yummy dish on the table in less time than it takes to order out.  Click here and I will take you over so you can print out the recipe.  Enjoy!

Just a little reminder, it’s show time for Stamp & Scrapbook Expo.  We just had our first two shows of the new year in Irving, Texas and Pleasanton, California and I’m happy to report that a fun time was had by all.  Not to worry, we still have 16 shows to go so be sure to hop on our website and start planning that much needed weekend away with your crafty peeps.  I’ll meet you at the Creativity Center and we can create something beautiful together.  As always, thank you for joining me today and happy crafting.  Hugs to all!

    Lorraine,
    I had a panic attack when I couldn’t find your ” Sunday’s with Lorraine,
It was so good to see you again at the Expo in Irvin! I’m just one of the many people who enjoy your demonstrations and appreciate all the new techniques & products you bring to the table for all of us crafters.
All was so fun and I’m trying to figure out how to make the micro glitter adhere to the projects once dry. Just love the subtle affect it gives to project. Just wanted to say hi and that you are a ROCK STAR at the Expo.
I do check you out on Sundays and love the recipes at the end of your blog.
Thank you for all you do!

Thank you for sharing such kind words. Its people like you that make my job so amazing. As far as the Glitter mister, when you use it it would have to be used with something sticky/wet otherwise it doesn’t have anything to stick to. Stay crafty my friend.

Lorraine, I’m so glad to see your blog for today. I was at the Pleasanton Expo yesterday.
I hope you’re feeling better after that little encounter with, was it a table? You’re such a good sport and you care so much about people having a great time being creative. You were so nice and welcoming and encouraging on my first Expo last year in Sacramento. You’re an inspiration. I hope you’re well rested. See you at the next expo (probably Sacramento).

    • Lorraine Ungeheier says:

Awww, thanks for sharing such kind thoughts. The table incident was embarrassing, but you guys were so kind in watching out for me. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
