2020 January Card Swap

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope you have had a great holiday season and are ready for a great New Year of Card Making!  I am very excited to be back and hosting the card swaps again this year!  Each month we will feature our Most Appreciated Card Swap Winner, and we now feature three Honorable Mention Winners from each day’s card swaps. With the new and improved format, everyone gets a card from each card swap guest.  I am anxious to see all of your new creative cards and card ideas coming into 2020!  In some locations, we have added an additional card swap so you will have four opportunities to be part of one or more of our creative card swap events.  Along with the winning cards, each month’s blog will feature a few tips for you to use in your card making.

Each kit in 2020 will feature a different sponsor who will provide the goodies you receive.  The kits will vary at different locations, but each sponsor has a great goodie bag planned for each of the card swap guests.  Pictured below is an adorable kit from Stamp Anniething.  This gift contains an adorable Hello stamp that would put a “Buzz” on any card, a package of enamel dots, twine to add that finishing touch, brightly colored adornment sequins, and of course, a big roll of double sided tape you can use to make all of those cards.  This is just one example of one of the kits you may receive at one of our card swaps.

Did anyone make their New Year’s resolution to make and send more handmade cards in 2020?  That would be a great resolution (and one you can enjoy)!  Going to the gym, starting a new diet; those are certainly not as fun as making more cards (and a lot harder to stick to).  Start 2020 by getting your stash cleaned out to see what you can use and start making those “Expo” wish lists because we will be on the road again soon!

Happy New Year and Happy Card Making!

Dave

I really have no idea what a card swap is and I am sure my newness would really prevent anything created leaving my room ☺️ I so do not have original ideas all I do is copy others soooo you all have fun ok? I love sparklies on the items I try to make I think it makes things look so….sparkly ?

    • Dave Gordon says:

      Hi Patricia
Now I am sure you have made some great creations so do not sell your cards and creations short. We all get ideas from others and put our own twist on the ideas os simple reuse the ideas….nothing wrong with that and sharing great ideas is part of being creative. You keep making and creating.–Dave
