Hello fellow crafters! Lorraine here to welcome you back to our Holiday, National Stamp & Scrapbook Month!!! I am so excited to have the opportunity to celebrate this month with you! Today’s giveaway is an amazing prize package from The Paper Cut, this puppy is definitely going to come in handy for all you talented paper crafters! About our Sponsor:

The Paper Cut was has been in business since 1996, owned by Ron and Sarah Justison. Ron is the fun guy behind the register that everyone knows and loves!  He also, which he will tell you…” makes” all the cards…meaning he does all the die-cutting and scoring.  Sarah is the creative one, designing all the products and samples, along with teaching classes. Together, with 3 employees, it is a small family business that sells paper products to both retailers and consumers.

We started our business out of our house after I went to a D.O.T.S. home party and fell in love with stamping.  Ron worked for a printing company and ran the press that did the die-cutting and embossing of cardstock to make pocket folders.  The two skills meshed together and The Paper Cut was formed…first starting to sell out of our living room to D.O.T.S consultants, then stores started popping up, so they were added to our customer list.  Over the next few years, as our product line expanded, we moved (finally out of our house, thankfully!) to bigger locations and then in 2002, we moved to our current location that had room to grow as we grew.

We started out selling just A-2 scored cards and envelopes in about 5 different stocks and have grown to sell hundreds of stocks in different sizes of sheets, different sizes of scored cards and envelopes, window overlays, die-cut cards, card kits, and book kits.  Over the last few years, we added thin metal dies to die-cut your own cards, along with coordinating layering sets. The past year, we added “Almost Done Card Kits”, which are a great alternative for someone just getting started or if you want to make a card but not buy all the supplies.

Currently, we sell wholesale to some of the independent retail stamp and scrapbook stores, but we also have a website to sell to the consumer.  Sometimes it helps to see our products in person, so we also travel to retail shows across the country…demoing our products in our booth, sometimes teaching classes and doing make & takes in our booth.  We love getting out and meeting our customers who have supported us over the many years!

About their Products:

Our very first Card Kit was the Magic Card, which wowed stampers 20 plus years ago and is still wowing people today. I had the privilege of teaching the magic card throughout the season last year and I am happy to report that it was a huge hit – a true classic. Most…with the exception of the “Almost Done Card Kits” …of our cards are BLANK and you use your own stamps and dies to decorate. Therefore, the kits will include the BASE Card that is pre-die cut and scored to fold to make a specific card, along with folding directions. The package usually has a picture of a sample card to give you an idea of what you can create and then we leave the creativity to you with all of your supplies!   Some of our different die-cut cards include the following:

  • Window Cards and Window Overlays (which are good for framing an image or making shaker cards)
  • Step Cards (5 different styles)
  • Dimensional Cards (including Pop-Up Box Cards, Pop-Out Z Fold Cards, and Cascading Cards
  • Fun Folding Cards (like our Funky Fold Accordions)
  • Cards Kits with Movable Parts (including our Magic Card, Lever Card, Slider Card, and our newest Waterfall Card, which will be featured in the Creativity Center in 2020)
  • Plus so many more….

Our paper line is mostly solid (as opposed to printed) cardstock in a variety of different weights and finishes.   We carry papers from different paper mills/brands, i.e, Neenah, Cougar, Mohawk, Stardream, Curious, Cocktail, Basis (by Leader), PopTones, etc…   Besides the basic and metallic cardstocks, we also have some specialty papers, including a MirriSparkle (a non-shedding line of Glitter Papers), MirriCard, MirriLava (one of our newest papers), Cold Press Watercolor Paper and Yupo paper for fun with Alcohol Inks.
