Hello, my crafty friends, and welcome back to the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo blog! I’ve just returned home from our Washington show and I’m happy to report that it was another amazing show! Washington is home to many of our team members, so this is definitely one of our “Cheers” shows since we practically know everybody’s name It’s like spending the weekend creating with friends and family, and a very large family at that. The word is out that this is the show to attend because our attendance has certainly increased from last year. Yay, Puyallup! Hugs to all for bringing your friends and sharing the word.
Tag Mini Album by Olga Direktorenko
There is nothing more gratifying than walking into your scrapbook room and coming out with a completed album filled with priceless memories. Mini albums are the instant gratification of scrapbooking. They make the perfect gift and will be treasured for many years to come, so why not be the hero and give the gift of memories? With a little help from Olga, you can create these adorable keepsakes in no time. Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to her blog Building Your World so you can watch the short video and pick up a technique or two. I love how Olga used some wide washi tape to create her own patterned paper. Have fun making each album your own.
It’s Hip To Be Square by Jen Jackson
What’s not to love here, a beautiful inky background, some adorable images of cats, and I love the square shape. Jen used the new square designs from Newton’s Block Party Stamp Set for the focal point. This set includes one large square stamp with cats peeking in from each edge with birthday accessories and five fun sentiments that will fit inside the frame. Aren’t they perfect for coloring? If you’re a cat lover like myself you might need this set in your life! 🙂 Click here and I’ll take you over so you can check out the other supplies used.
A Flair For Buttons by Riikka
Riikka has done it again, she never ceases to amaze me with her gorgeous layouts. Even with all that is going on with those perfectly placed layers, your eye is automatically drawn to the photos first and then to those gorgeous patterns. After all, it is the photos that should take center stage, right? Riikka truly is the Queen of layering and I highly recommend taking a trip over to her Blog Paperiliitin to check out the video showing how easily this layout came together. I could barely finish the video before I was reaching for my paper trimmer! Hugs to Riikka for being such a constant inspiration to her fellow paper crafters.
Garlic Butter Pasta with Asparagus and Peas
In celebration of this gorgeous summer weather that we’ve been having, I thought you might enjoy a tasty meatless meal that your family will love. Like many great pasta recipes, this one is quick and easy and perfect for those busy weeknight dinners. Thanks to our creative friends over on the Kitchn food blog you, too, can have this yummy dish on the table in under half an hour. Add a simple salad and your favorite artisan bread and you’ll have smiling faces at the dinner table tonight.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s creative therapy. Our shows are in full swing now and you know what that means – it’s time to start planning that much needed weekend away with your creative peeps. Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to our website so you can check out our show schedule. With this many shows around the nation, the question is not what show you should attend, but rather how many shows you can attend. Looking forward to seeing you soon, I’ll meet you in the Creativity Center!
Hugs to all,
Lorraine
