Today’s inspiration piece displays a beautiful mixture of different black textures. I love how the stamping & embossing just pop against the gorgeous inked background. Be sure to stop by Paper Creations By Shirley any time you need a burst of inspiration.
I have three spoiled feline family members (one of which has jumped on my keyboard at least 10 times while trying to write this article.) 🙂 Cats, you gotta to love them. I was thrilled to see a Fairy Cat in the Autumn Fairy Collection by Chocolate Baroque. The background was created with watercolor paints (wet on wet) and Dylusions spray inks. Don’t you just love the seamless blend of color .. What a WOW background & that’s only the beginning.
Once the card was dry, Shirley stamped the Grasses using Floral Edges at the bottom and the Bubbles from Decorative Edges at the top with Peacock Distress Ink.
Next, Shirley embossed the Fairy Cat from November Fairy with WOW Black Glint. To give the fairy wings a little shimmer, Shirley added Stickles to the wings. The rest of the images, the branch at the top, the butterfly from November Fairy, and the Floral Seed heads from September Fairy were stamped with black ink. The black liquid enamel to the seed heads was a nice addition. ‘Have a magical birthday’ is from the Fairyland Words.
I hope you are as inspired as I am to break out your favorite stamps & inks. Just dive in and have some fun creating your own work of art. If you need a little push be sure to stop by Shirley’s blog, she truly is the queen of all that is inky, as you can see by the beautiful background on this card.
Thanks for visiting & I hope you have a very creative day!

Wonderful card with fabulous technique and color!
This card is beautiful and I don’t really care for cats, sorry, I’m a dog person! I love the different techniques used. The colors in the background are so pretty too.
