Use Spellbinders Dies for Home Decor Items

This is a cool and unique way to use Spellbinders dies for a home decor item.

Check out this tutorial from Candy Rosenberg:

Hello everyone, its Candy Rosenberg and I wanted to show you a fast and easy way to add a little accent to a home décor project.

I had been eyeing this metal bucket holder on my desk for quite some time, trying to figure out a way to alter it bit to fit my room décor.  I did not need a ton of adornment just a few small items to set it off just right.  I found an adorable frame in the new Julianna Hudgins “Jewel Framed Sentiments” that was perfect along with the “love” sentiment.

  • The Rubber Café- Scrap Happy Glue

Other:  twine, burlap, sheer ribbon flower, stickles, embossing ink and powder

To get started, cut and emboss the chosen frame.  Wipe randomly across the top of the die cut with an embossing ink. Do not cover the whole top, we want to give it an antiqued effect after we add the embossing powder.

Cover the entire die cut with red embossing powder.

Once you have covered and flicked off the excess, heat emboss.  It will leave embossing powder in random areas keeping some of the black cardstock exposed.  Then add some dollops of red glitter stickles and wipe across the entire surface.

This will go on top of a ribbon flower to complete the main look.

Wrap burlap ribbon around the tin bucket.  Adhere the frame we just created to the front middle.  With a small piece of twine add the small “love” sentiment to the inside top of the frame.

Add a few ribbons and twine to the handle and you have a great tool holder to accent your room.

I hope you will give this a try.  Thank you for stopping by!
