I don’t know what it is, but I really like a quilted look on paper projects. I can see making this card in all sorts of color ways. Thanks to Nicol Magouirk for sharing this project on her blog and allowing us to share it with you.
What’s so sweet about this project is that now there are dies that make this quilting technique so much easier! No more cutting those pieces with scissors, a couple papers cut with a die and then you are piecing it together.
Nicol said this about her card “I enjoy quilting in my spare time and so the Wplus9 Quilt Cuts 2 Dies caught my eye as a great background builder. I gathered up similar colors of patterned paper from several 6×6 paper pads and die cut all the pieces to piece together my quilt background. I used a little Zig liquid adhesive to adhere my design and added an enamel dot to the center of each “quilt block”.
For the banner greeting, I die cut the Written On Ribbon Banner Die from smooth white cardstock and stamped the coordinating banner design and greetings from the Written On Ribbon Stamp Set. I used a little glitter pen to add detail to the banner and popped the banner up with foam adhesive for dimension.”
I hope this project has inspired you to get “quilting.” Have a wonderfully crafty day!
