Sherry Cheever, a guest designer over at JustRite Papercraft, created this gorgeous vintage card using their Rose Postcard Background stamp. It is truly lovely. I really like how she layered and added the frame askew to add interest.
Sherry’s blog is “Walkin’ on the Bad Side!” Bad side of what, I don’t know, but she sure has talent. Take a look!
The image was stamped on watercolor paper in black pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Reinkers in different shades of orange and green were used to watercolor the image. The butterfly was stamped twice and water colored in light purples and blues.
The edges of the image, as well as all the other background papers, were distressed with scissors and then sponged with linen ink. A frame for the image was made by gluing a piece of coordinating paper to chipboard, then die cutting it with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight. The seam binding ribbon was dyed with the same dark green used for water coloring the leaves in the image. The card base and background layer were die cut with Spellbinders Grand Squares. The edges were sponged with linen ink.
I hope you are inspired to create something with a vintage look.
Have a wonderfully crafty day!
