You Were Meant To…

Do you share a love of mini albums? The thing that really floats my boat about mini albums is the instant gratification. I love my 12X12 albums – don’t get me wrong, but they are an eve- evolving long term project where I know I can crank out a mini album in one sitting. I also think they make the best gifts for those special people in our lives. A mini album is one gift that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. The gift of memories is absolutely priceless.

Mini Album

The cards from the stack pack are perfect for the pages in your mini album . When you double the cards back to back they really make a nice sturdy page. Start out by selecting six different sheets of the pre-scored cards,  fold each in half along the score line. For a larger album you can add more pages, it’s up to you.

Accomplished Collection

On this mini album Shelley used the new Accomplished Collection. Feel free to substitute your favorite collection.

Using a high-tack adhesive, apply a strip along each side of the card.  You will have a pocket with the opening at the top. Perfect for some fun tags or extra photos.

Shelley die-cut a couple of prints from the 6X6 Paper Bundle & layered them onto the cover page. The reverse side of the Accomplished Components Die-Cuts have a pretty plaid design, so she used it as the backdrop for the sentiment sticker.  A few buttons from Petaloo were added at the top with glue dots.

Inside pages

If you plan on using brads or hand-stitching, you might want to do this before adhering the sides of the card together or to the mat itself before attaching.

Cork is also a nice neutral embellishment & a great way to add some additional texture.  These arrow stickers were a must to go along with the sticker sentiment on this page.

Tags

No mini album is complete without adding some fun tags?!?  These tags were made from a single sheet of the “Circulate” 12X12 paper cut into 4″ X 5″ tags. The bows were staggered  so that every-other-page had a bow.  On the other pages Shellye added journaling card cut-outs.which left room for extra  journaling and or photos!

The tags slide easily down into the openings of the cards.

The book was bound using metal snap rings that can easily be found at most office supply stores. On this mini album the pages are held together with two rings.
I hope you’ve been inspired to break out your favorite collection and create a one of a kind mini album.
If you would like to see additional photos of this adorable mini album you can go to the Authentique website.
Thanks for the visit & I hope to see you back soon. My wish for you is to be fearless when it comes to your creativity, to be brave enough to try new techniques, but most important to have fun with your art.
