Christmas Tags

Today we have the very talented Melinda Spinks here to share how to create a series of beautiful tags that take an ordinary package to something really special. Melinda is the author of The Scrap Farm and an outstanding design team member for Jillibean Soup. We always feel so inspired by Melinda’s projects!

These beautiful tags were made using the Mix the Media Ephemera packs. These Ephemera packs are loaded with goodies of all shapes and sizes. This first tag is made using the Blue Ephemera Pack.

I love the soft colors of the Cream Ephemera pack.

The third tag incorporates the lovely muted colors of the Green Ephemera Pack

To begin, cut a patterned paper to match the shape of a Kraft tag, then add some texture paste circles using the Jillibean stencils and set to the side to dry.

Using your craft knife, gently peel the eyelets of each of the kraft tags and set aside. Be really careful not to tear these as you will be placing them back on.

Once the texture paste is completely dry, use a foam pop dot to adhere each of the patterned cardstock pieces to the tags and trim the corners to align with your tag.

Replace each eyelet into its original position on the top layer of the tag.

Take a piece of patterned cardstock from each of the ephemera packs to create an embossed flower using a metal die.

To piece the flower together, simply add a foam pop dot in between each of the layers and add a small bow to the bottom using cotton thread.

And last but not least, here is the tag created using the Red Ephemera Pack.
