Sundays With Lorraine

Sundays-with-Lorraine

Welcome to Weekly Scrapper! It makes me smile knowing that you’ve found some “ME” time to get your craft on. Sundays are special to me because this is the time that I have to share my passion for crafting with you when we’re not at a Scrapbook Expo. So sit back, relax, and enjoy today’s inspiration.

Love This Moment by Cathy Cafun

Is it just me, or are there other paper crafters out there that tend to struggle a bit when it comes to creating the perfect masculine projects? I’d like to think I’m not alone (because then I will feel a bit silly 🙂  ). I hope you, too, are inspired by this handsome layout designed by Cathy Cafun. I’d like to send out a virtual hug to Cathy for allowing us to share her design.

“Love This Moment”

Cathy used the “Time Machine” collection by Kaisercraft which has an artsy, steampunk feel. Isn’t this a great line for those masculine projects? I highly recommend stopping by and spending some creative time with Cathy on her blog Cathy Can’t Help Herself. You’ll definitely want to check out the other projects she designed with this fun collection. Happy scrapping!

Hello by Niki G.

There is nothing like a good color challenge to get those creative juices flowing. Check out what Niki created after being inspired by the photos below (pictures taken from Pinterest).

Everyone needs a bit of sparkle in their lives, right? This fun and festive card is sure to brighten anyone’s day. It’s like sending a rainbow through the mail. 🙂

Hello

Ombre inks, sequins, and some distress glitter = magic as you can see by Niki’s heartfelt treasure. Who wouldn’t feel the love after receiving this beauty in the mail? Keep up the amazing job of spreading those smiles one handmade card at a time!

Let the Wind Blow by Debbie

Would you believe this gorgeous card was created using just three stamps? Pretty amazing! I have to admit I have a thing for silhouettes and of course you all know how I love a good inky background. There is something to be said about taking a plain piece of white paper and ending up with a unique background, so how could I pass up the opportunity to share this little piece of art with you?

Here I go again being an enabler, but I can’t help myself! On the outside chance (LOL) that you, too, NEED these three stamps in your life they are as follows: the dandelion seeds are from the Seasonal Fragments set, the fairy is from December Fairy, and the thistle is part of the Thistle Butterfly set. (No worries, I’m here for you; just click on the links and shop!) Happy stamping, my friends!

DIY Embossed Emerald Earrings

If the thought of creating a unique pair of earrings using your Sizzix machine makes you smile, then you are going to love this post. Who knew that you can design your own jewelry using your Big Shot? Well, now you do, yay!

With the holidays coming up, you might want to make several pairs, so click here and I will escort you over to the Sizzix Blog where Bethany shares some very detailed step-by-step instructions complete with pictures.  Now you can add jewelry designer to your talents! 🙂

Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Grilled Peach Salsa

Why not take advantage of those juicy fresh peaches at your grocery store (or if you’re lucky, the tree in your backyard)? Grilled peaches, combined with tomato, green onion, lime zest and juice, and some chili, make a bold and exceptional salsa that pairs beautifully with grilled pork, chicken, and fish.

I hope you enjoy yet another amazing recipe in under an hour. You know my goal is to get you out of that hot kitchen back into your craft room where you belong. Bon appetit!

Thanks for sharing a bit of your Sunday with me; I hope to see you back next weekend. I’d like to send a shout out to all of the amazing people that attended the Scrapbook Expos in Somerset, New Jersey and Marlborough, Massachusetts the past two weekends; thanks for a wonderful weekend and a fun time was had by all!
