Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a painted mason jar—the perfect addition to your fall home décor.
I started the project with a clean mason jar, orange acrylic paint, a sponge brush, and some parchment paper.
I placed the parchment paper under the jar and gave it an even coat of paint and let the paint completely dry.
Because I didn’t want to keep cleaning my brush in between coats and I didn’t want the paint to dry on the brush, I placed the brush in a plastic bag to keep the brush wet.
I applied three coats of paint in all to get a pretty even finish, allowing the jar to completely dry in between each coat of paint.
Then, I used a sanding block to distress the jar, removing bits of paint over the raised edges.
Using my Cricut Explore®, Cricut Design Space®, and the Disney® – Pooh and Friends cartridge, I cut out some leaves from colored cardstock and distressed the edges with a file.
I used an old brown ink pad to add just a touch of color to the edges of the die cuts.
I adhered the cuts together and gently bent the edges of the cuts to give the cuts some shape.
I adhered the cuts together, along with a brown button.
I wrapped the neck of the mason jar with brown cording, threaded the button, and tied a bow to finish.
Now the jar is ready for some fresh flowers (or maybe some paper ones!). But it is pretty enough to leave as-is and display on a shelf or mantle.
