Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I’m a recovering graphic designer and when I’m not busy homeschooling my four kiddos, I am drinking copious amounts of coffee while playing with pretty paper. I got into this pretty pile of paper in 2011, while pregnant with my third child, and wanted to try handmade baby announcements. A dear friend took me to my local scrapbooking store and I have never looked back! Not only do I love documenting my family’s memories, but I find great joy in the creative process… which usually involves lots of messy, painty fun!
Favorite thing to create: Mixed media layouts, cards, and recently… art journal spreads!
What do you love about this hobby? The tangible creative outlet.
5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I was raised vegetarian.
2. Our mailbox is indeed purple.
3. I am an only child.
4. I love to garden.
5. My favorite food is buffalo chicken wings… the spicier the better!
Here is the stunning card Ashli made for her spotlight:
CELEBRATE GOOD THINGS CARD by Ashli Oliver
Stitching, wonky circles, grid designs, and mixed media… These are a few of my favorite things! And, I put them all to use on this fun and playful card!
Here are four of Ashli’s favorite (and gorgeous!) creations:
BIG GIRL BED FOR YOU by Ashli Oliver
I created this project using lots of flair badges and layers. Oh, and there’s my favorite go-to design of the grid again!
CARD by Ashli Oliver
For this quick and simple card with big impact, I simply cut some left over Project Life cards into strips and stitched them down! A simple wood veneer piece finishes it off.
FAMILY ALBUM by Ashli Oliver
Every year in February I make a little mini book about my family. Last year I put a thrift store planner to use! I just love how it turned out and it is one of my all-time favorite projects!
OH YES! by Ashli Oliver
For this page I challenged myself to use ribbon… something I don’t tend to reach for very often. I love how stepping out of my comfort zone can lead to some wonderful results!
Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us Ashli!
All are beautiful, Ashli! Funny about your favorite food and how you were raised! LOL!
