Let’s start out with a fun layout that I recently discovered on the Silhouette Blog. As scrapbookers we find joy in documenting life’s everyday moments. Of course we scrapbook the big events, but this layout reminded me that it’s just as important to scrapbook the everyday moments as shown by these great photos of a child enjoying an unexpected snowfall. This layout has it all – I love the bold title, how the priceless photos take center stage, and of course how Cari journaled her story. Perfect!
Cari used her Silhouette to create this adorable layout and when you go to the Silhouette Blog you can download the free shape of the week (the cute snowflake image), and you can also follow along with her step-by-step instructions. But not to worry if you don’t have a Silhouette, you can easily adapt your layout by using what you have on hand. I’d like to thank Cari for sharing this sweet design with us today. I fell in love with all the yummy texture and the beautiful color variation on this gorgeous card designed by the very talented Laura Bassen. I surprised to discover that she actually created her own stencil using some dies that she already had on hand. Way to go, Laura, thanks for sharing great tips with us You really are an inspiration to your fellow crafters.
I highly recommend heading on over to Laura’s blog Doublestick Heaven so you can check out the great video she created. You’ll learn how to easily change the color of your embossing paste as well as making your own stencils. You’re gonna love it! Click here and I would be happy to take you over. While spending some quality time on Keisha’s blog “A Bit East Coast” I came across this adorable card and knew I had to share the love. Not to worry, you still have time to create a few of your famous handmade cards in time for Valentine’s Day. Keisha used the new Die-namics Tag Builder set to create the focal point on this adorable card. This must-have set includes 18 interchangeable pieces allowing you to create all kinds of tags.

Coin Purse
I have to share some adorable projects that I discovered on the Papertrey Ink Blog that you are sure to love. Each one is made using the same die “Coin Purse II.” I can think of all kinds of ways to use this fun die and I don’t even sew, but maybe I should start. 😉 Did I mention that the die even cuts the holes so sewing it is a snap; you can’t make a mistake. The design team over at Papertrey Ink have really outdone themselves with this fun new die. These are just a few of the samples they have to share. Not only can you make these adorable coin purses, but with the same die you can also make a cute drawstring gift bag. I love how Heather turned hers into this cute bunny gift bag. How cute for Easter, filled with a little pishkey or two.
This is one die that you will be using over and over again. Since I travel a lot hosting the Creativity Center at Scrapbook Expo, I’m thinking this will be a great way to entertain myself on the plane or on road trips, while waiting at the dentist, watching TV, etc. This is a perfect craft to travel with, you just die cut the pieces, toss them in a small Ziploc bag with your floss, a needle, and those tiny scissors you love and you’re good to go. “Ya gotta love it!”
