Mixed Colors and Patterns Card

Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a card I created mixing busy patterns and bright colors using BasicGrey’s Saturday Morning collection.

I know BasicGrey is no more, but it won’t stop from enjoying one of their final collections. The Saturday Morning collection is just so bold and colorful. There are lots of fun prints in this collection, too. To be honest, sometimes mixing prints that are so different can be a little intimidating, but I find when I use just a little bit of each print, it is easier to put more of them together — so that no one pattern overwhelms the other.

First, I started with the 6×6 Paper Pad, the Element Stickers sheet, and the Die Cut Flowers Kit.

What I like about the 6×6 Paper Pad is that the the prints are smaller and to me, that also helps with mixing and matching patterns.

I picked out a few of my favorite patterns with similar colors.

I cut the circle patterned paper to 5″ square, the navy patterned paper to 4 1/4″ square, and the other four patterns to 2″ square and layered and adhered them together in the center of the 5″ panel.

I cut some 1 1/2″ square pieces of green burlap trim and adhered them to the 2″ patterned paper panels.

I put together four flowers by mixing and matching different shapes and sizes of die cuts from the Die Cut Flower Kit.

I adhered the flowers to the 2″ patterned paper panels on the card base with some foam adhesive, added a couple of buttons to each flower, and stapled a tab sticker from the Element Stickers sheet to the upper left corner to finish the card.
