Masking Sentiments

Welcome back! Here is an “oldie, but goodie” masking technique. I hope this will inspire you to break out your stamps and get creative! Masking off the sentiment is easy to do and creates a professional look to your cards. I’ll show you how!

Step 1: Stamp sentiment in the center of the card first. I’m using the Table Service stamps by Papertrey Ink.

Step 2: Use a strip of thin paper to cover the sentiment.

Step 3: Stamp circles overlapping the sentiment. You can stamp a few, or fill in the whole card front with them.

Step 4: Remove the paper strip and stamp the flowers in all of the centers. (You can keep the scrap paper on if you need to, if there is not enough room for the flowers on the two ends.)

Step 5: Fill in all of the circles with the floral stamp and lace borders. (Mask off the sentiment again, if you need to, for any of the remaining lace borders inside the circles.)

On my second card, I just used three circles for a quick card, but used the same idea with a new color palette.

Simple, yet effective!
