Documenting Christmas 2016 with a Video Tutorial

Hey friends, Becki here. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy New Year. Now that Christmas 2016 is behind us, we all have tons of Christmas photos that need to be added to our scrapbooks. Today, I have an idea for scrapbooking with classic products to give your layout a fresh look. I used products from October Afternoon and Pebbles.

Pastel colors are filling the scrapbooks in 2016. I wanted to try my hand at a pastel color palette without buying new products, so I dug into my stash and found some older products (paper, chipboard, and stickers) from October Afternoon and some gorgeous glittery snowflake die cuts from Pebbles.

I did add some dark wood grain patterned paper around the photo because I wanted the emphasis to stay on the photo. By using a dark color around the photo the readers eye is immediately drawn to the photo. You can see how it all came together in this process video:

Journaling is a MUST for me so I printed my journaling on a piece of patterned paper that fit nicely into my design. I kept the journaling close to the photo but left enough space in between the photo and the journaling so that the photo would still be the focal point of the layout.

When you sit down to document your Christmas 2016 memories, what products andcolors will you choose? Do you prefer the traditional red and green or will you choose a trendier pastel color palette?

I’d love to see how you document your Christmas memories! Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog today. I’ll see you again soon!

I loved the use of the pastels. I normally wouldn’t think of that when doing a Christmas layout, but I loved how yours turned out. I will give it a try after I print my Xmas photos.

I have been to 2 Scrapbook Expos, in CA and taken classes at both. My friend and I go together. We have learned so much, and bought more then we should. I am bringing my Sister-in-law to the Pleasanton one this year, her first time. Two free tickets would be Wonderful
