Latest & Greatest: Stamping with Brutus|Monroe

Hey everyone! Roree here with today’s Make It! Monday post.

Our next show is in Denver, Colorado on September 29th-30th. Stamp & Scrapbook Expo will be teaching three “Latest & Greatest” workshops at this show: Card Making, Cool Tools, and Stamping. Today I am going to be creating with a new product from our Latest & Greatest: Stamping class: Brutus|Monroe 4×6 Stamps.

We will have a different stamp set at each location. Today, I am going to be creating with the Fancy Borders set.

I used the largest border in the set to create a design element on this card:

I started with the Fancy Borders stamp set and my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform from Tonic Studios.

I used navy ink from the ColorBox® Petal Point® Primary Pastels Chalk Ink in to stamp the image onto white cardstock.

I’m not the best stamper, so using the Stamping Platform made stamping a clean, crisp image so much easier. I was able to stamp the image several times until I got it just right.

Because I stamped on bright white cardstock and the paper I planned to use had a vintage feel, I used a sponge and an old brown ink pad to distress the image just a bit.

I then framed the stamped border with a denim print patterned paper from Crate Paper‘s Random collection. (It’s an older collection I had in my stash.)

I finished with stickers and embellishments (from the same collection) to highlight my stamped image.

I just love the patterns in this Fancy Borders stamp set, and I know I will be using the set again and again!

I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
