Hi there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends, Becki here, thank you for stopping by for another edition of Inspiration Station. Today, I’m sharing my top 5 must have tools for scrapbookers. I’ve been scrapbooking for 20 years. (Yikes, that makes me sound old!) Throughout the years I’ve had MANY many tools come through my crafting space. There are a few tried and true tools that I keep reaching for day after day, layout after layout. These are tools that I use on a daily basis.
I cannot create without my paper trimmer. In fact, I have three of these. Admitting that is a little embarrassing but it’s true. I keep one upstairs, one downstairs, and one packed in my crafting on the go bag. This isn’t the biggest or fanciest paper trimmer. I don’t have room for a gigantic paper trimmer on my desk and I definitely don’t want to pack one of those in my crafting on the go bag. This paper trimmer works for me!
While we’re talking about cutting, we may as well talk about scissors. These scissors are hands down my all time favorite. I won’t even count how many pairs of these things I own. That would be embarrassing!! They never need sharpening, they always cut perfectly, and they have a nice fine point to the. My biggest recommendation for these scissors is do NOT cut wired ribbon with them. I learned this the hard way. The wire ruined my favorite scissors. I may have cried over that mistake. There was zero hesitation on what kind of scissors I would buy again though 😉I love stapling things in place on my layouts but I found that standard staplers were a little bit too big. In comes the Tiny Attacher. This little tool staples with the perfect little staples. It’s also a very sturdy tool. I’ve never had to replace this tool. I did however buy a second tiny attacher. (Of course, I needed one to keep in my crafting on the go bag.)
Over the 20 years that I’ve been scrapbooking I’ve only had two manual die cutting machines. When my first die cutting machine broke, this is the machine that I replaced it with. I love the Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine because not only does it do an amazing job die cutting but it also folds into a compact space and fits on my shelf nicely. Because I don’t have my own craft room, space is at a premium. This die cutting machine is perfect.
It took me YEARS to invest in a ATG! When I did finally invest in one, I’ve never looked back. The adhesive is awesome and it’s inexpensive! This adhesive has a permanent spot on my desk. If you haven’t tried an ATG, its worth it, I promise. There you have it, my 5 must have tools for scrapbookers. Now, inquiring minds want to know, what are your 5 must have tools for scrapbooking? Let me know in the comments below. I’m curious if we share any of our favorite tools. Happy Thursday friends!
Have never used an ATG….looks too big to handle, is it?
My favorite go to tools are my honeybee tiny scissors, my tombow glue, my Big SHot and my Gemini Junior and my 1/4″ purple ATG gun because I am left handed
I love my fiskars soft touch scissors as I can trim anything , personal trimmer for photos, 12 in trimmer with built in scorer so I can make cards too. I like the ATG for bigger projects but I have a smaller tape runner I use for photos. I primarily scrapbook outside my house so having compact tools is my saving grace. I’m going to look for those tonic scissors plus that stapler! Thanks for sharing!
I confess, I have 4 pair of scissors, two trimmers, and two ATG guns. ( I got them for $8 when a store was going out of business.) I also like the mini stapler.
Ha! This made me laugh…I’m right there with ya! 🙂
I have the Tonics, the ATG and the Fiskars trimmer. Love them all. I’m due a new die cutting machine. I also love my MISTI and my Glue Dots.
Mine is the ATG. I just purchased it this year and it has already made a huge difference. I also stocked up on refills when Joann had their 50% off coupons at Christmas!
I have 2 trimmers , numerous scissors and my ATG. Pop dots are a must and my smaller personal trimmer. All my go to items.
My 5 must have tools are my adhesive gun, my jolee stickers, my cricut, my patterned paper, and my dicutting machine,
Becki,
Thank you for all the input on tools…there are never enough in my mind. I have lots but I am always on the lookout for a better tool. Never had the ATG but may invest in one now. I love my Fiskar’s Trimmer, I use it everyday, no kidding. I go through blades every month. Love the Expo too.
One of my go-to tools is my Creative Memories 7″ cutter. I’ve never tried the Tonic scissors that you show here, but I love my Cutterbees and I found that I love the EK Success version even more. The latter has non-stick blades so I can cut adhesive easier.
YAAAAAS! Essential tools! Thanks for the information and confirmation 😉
I am thankful for all the wonderful suggestions. These tools make my crafting so much easier.
Mine are similar! Paper trimmer, ATG, Big Shot, non-stick craft mat, and stamp platform. I have been thinking about the TH scissors, and I think you pushed me over the edge and I will order them now!
I love my essential tools such as my fiskars paper trimmer, big shot, misti, cutter bee scissors and my spellbinders tool n one. I have a ATG runner but I do not use it as often because it’s a bit bulky but the adhesive is strong. Thank you for sharing your 5 must have tools
I have all of the featured items and more. I also have created a toolbox for going anyway so that I can craft when I want.
My 5 go to tools are:
1 Stampin Up Trimmer
2 Alphabet Dies 1 1/2”
3 Xyron
4 Gemini Jr
5 flexible ruler
There are a few other things I usually have out but these are my go to items!
I’ve never tried the ATG, but after all the good things everyone has to say about, it’s on the top of my shopping list. Thanks.
Love to win a giveaway this month. Could use.some fussy cut scissors and a die cut machine. Thanks.or the chance to win…
My must haves:
Tomboy adhesive, paper cutter, cutter bee scissors, Brown distressing ink pad and a brown Copic marker!
Love each handy dandy tool. Precision makes things so beautiful.
I, too, have hesitated in purchasing the ATG. I think I’ll give it another look thanks to your article.
I must say my die cutting machine is a must have as well. May have to try the ATG thank you
My top favorite tools are my paper cutter.
The Fiskars shown here has markings up to 6″ so I don’t
have to pull out the extension every time I want to cut
my card at 5 1/2″. I use lots of Scotch Double-sided tape.
For embossing/die cutting I go to my Vagabond. I’ve had
it for many years and it always performs well. I have
one pair of scissors that I always use (I think they are
Fiskars also). Looks like 4 items are the most used
in my paper crafting. thanks for the look at new
items. txmlhl(at)yahoo(dot)com
The cutter looks really nice
Trimmer
Atc
Xyron- many different sizes
Scissors
Self healing craft mat
But have to say need to get that stapler you have because mine is teeny tiny– about two inches long
My top favorites are my Fiskar trimmer, Tim Holtz scissors, my tape runner and my cuttlebug and my roll of double sided foam tape to pop things up. Always love to hear what everyone else is using and seeing all the new items coming out. Thanks for keeping us updated.
My top 5 tools are my Honeybee scissors, corner rounder, paper trimmer, a tape runner (although I’m looking for a new one – would love to try the ATG one above, but it looks like a Monster!) and a magnet set to hold by page layouts together between scrapbooking sessions.
Thanks for sharing. I hear you: my ATG has a special corner at my table too?
Love all the tools you mentioned. I don’t have a die cut machine but would love one.
I LOVE my Beacon 3 in 1 glue. It’s a great tacky fast drying glue. I think my favorite trimmer is the Stampin Up trimmer. Of course I couldn’t go without my Spellbinders die cut machine either! Great post!
I love the ATG. I heard about it from NicoleJones911 on her you tube channel. I bought one at Joanne’s and refills too. Sooo nice to have tape last longer than a few days like the smaller ones I used to buy.
My go to’s and yours are the same. You know what they say about “great minds” right?
My top favorite are: my Big Shot, Tombow Mono Liquid Glue, SU! scissors, Creative Memories paper cutter and my ATG Gun!
LOVE all those tools above and could definitely put all those to good use if my craft room.
my favorite are my paper cutter, Teflon scissors, tacky glue, bone folder, and my non stick mat.
My favorite is my paper trimmer and good scissors! Love tape as well!
I’m thrilled to know I have a few of the “best” choices, looking to add a few more, the shopping is half the fun!
I was using the small tape runners and saw my friends using the bigger 3m. I had thought it would be to big to handle and bulky but boy was I wrong. I love the bigger tape runner. It lasts longer and is very comfortable in my hand.
I need to get an ATG! I was at a crop this weekend and so many people had them. Getting tired of using the small ones that run out quickly because I use so much of it.
I also have three paper trimmers in different sizes for different applications!
I have been scrapbooking fir years and have all of the above. But, believe it or nit, I have a friend that is just starting so I an helping guide her as far as what she actually needs to buy. There are so many products out there that you could spend a small fortune!
I’ll have to try the Tim Holtz scissors.
My teen daughter and I both scrapbook so we have multiples of many items. I think I need to pick up the ATG. I think we could really use a few of them.
My top 5 favorite scrapbooking tools are 1) my ATG, a friend told me about me about it and I haven’t looked back ever since!! 2) Fiskars paper trimmer pictured above, I’ve tried so many paper trimmers in the 25 years I’ve been scrapbooking, but this one is the only that cuts straights! 3) all 3 sizes of my Tonic sizes, I started with the middle size and then ended up buy the bigger size and then when the tiny one came out I had to buy that one too. I love them for everything!! I have Fibromyalgia so they help me not hurt my hands when I’m cutting. 4) Big Shot Express, I got one for Christmas 2016 from my hubby, I know they redid it just recently, but I’ve had no problems with mine. It was hard to crank mine if I had a lot of die cutting to do with my Fibromyalgia so this was the answer and I absolutely love mine. I’d love to get something small for my desk to use for smaller dies, but my Big Shot Express is awesome and I’m not sure what I’d do without now 🙂 . 5) Art Glitter Designer Adhesive Glue Dries Clear Liquid Glue with the Precision Tip, I’ve tried every glue out there and when I found this glue with it’s precision tip I knew I finally found liquid glue I could use and not use anything else. I’m already on my second bottle and bought a refill!! Since I’m also a cardmaker this glue comes in handy for everything! Those are my 5 Favorite Things!! I have to say that this was kinda fun, made you think about what was really important!!
My favorites seem to change with different projects but my big shot, xyron, paper cutter, detaIL scissors and ATG are always a must. Time to look for new detail scissors though.
I need to try the ATG. I have small hands so I would love to give it a try.
Thank you for the great article on favorites. I have tried some of them but not all. The Tim Holtz scissors look especially interesting!
Thank you for the tips. I agree with your top 5….except the stapler. But now, I’m going to get one and try using it! Thanks again!
These are great recommendations. I’ve never used an ATG, but have heard it’s great. My five must-have tools are Multi Medium Matte, Fiskars trimmer, Westcott non-stick scissors and Scor-Tape.
Must have my paper trimmer, adhesive – I like the Glue Glider Pro, I had the ATG but I could not for the life of me get it reloaded, operator error! I also have all sized of the glue dots since they hold very well. Patterned paper, washi and friends!! Can’t wait for Expo Grapevine!!
Paper trimmer, close to my heart scissors, tombow, spellbinder Platnum, & Otto light
I would go blind without excellent lighting!
I haven’t used the ATG but have seen many using it. Need to get one, as the small tape runners empty out too quickly!
You can never have enough adhesive. And I need a new trimmer… Great products, I’m making my packing list for the expo!
Hmmm. Will have to try the ATG. Paper trimmer, cutterbee scissors, and a good adhesive are always my top tools.
I love to use the adhesive from the ATG. Sometimes I misplace my ATG and I still use the adhesive refills. lol.
My top 5 tools are my paper trimmer, my cutter bee scissors, my sizzix sidekick, xyron adhesives, my cricut system…
I don’t have the ATG or the stapler – will have to add those! ?One of my go to’s is definitely a bone folder.
I love the atg gun, I do not know how I lived without it before!
The ATG is an absolute life saver. There’s nothing worse than running out of adhesive during a class or project.
I have these tools and would be lost without them. I always know where they are on my desk.
I LOVE my ATG!
I have been considering an atg for a while but still trying to get past the size and price tag
Paper! Must have lots of paper to add to your list of 5 tools.
My 5 favorite tools would be my guillotine paper trimmer (I liked the fishers paper trimmer but after awhile it doesn’t cut cleanly even after changing the blade), fine tip scissors (hmmm those tonic fine tip look great!), Big Shot, Crop-o-dile, clear 3X14 ruler.
Paper cutter, paper, adhesive, scissors, and sticker maker.
How timely that you recommend the ATG as I have been investigating other alternative adhesives because the stuff I am using now is not adhering for long periods, horrible for a scrapbooker. So thank you!
My 5 must have tools for scrapbooking are my Fiskars scissors, my Herma Dotto adhesive dispenser, my Xyron sticker maker, my 3M double sided foam tape, and my CraftMedley Craft Glue. My scissors are one of the first things I received as a gift when I started scrapbooking. They came in a set of three. I use two of the scissors frequently, the large pair and the medium pair, which I tied a ribbon to and only use it for cutting ribbon. The third pair is the tiny pair and I hardly ever use it. I have gone through a few dispensers, but I am tried and true to Herma Dotto adhesive. I use the repositionable kind and swear by it. I also use repositionable adhesive in my sticker maker and use it most to adhere ribbon. Office Max was going out of business several years ago, and I bought two rolls of their foam tape. I still have one complete roll and a little bit of the first roll. I saved a bundle there. Lastly would be my CraftMedley Craft Glue. This is a new find within the last three years or so. I really like it because it doesn’t “string-along” like other liquid glues.
I just bought one of those trimmers about a month ago and I love it. I think I may buy some of those scissors. I like the smaller ones. Thanks
I must be doing something wrong. I bought the Scotch ATG, but couldn’t get it to work right. After reading your recommendation, I will dig it out and try it again.
Aboslutely! I have wrist issues and it is perfectly balanced and is easy on my hands. The refills are must less $ than other brands, and there is not tons of packaging for the refills (which are generally at least 3x as much tape as well!) Just practice a little.
Don’t have the ATG…. just wondering how heavy it is. Developing carpal tunnel and always thought the ATG looked a bit heavy but very sturdy and lots of adhesive! Hate having to keep buying refills and more adhesive!
Brenda, I use it BECAUSE of carpal tunnel. It is well balanced, and I can keep my wrists straight while using it. Go for it!!!
Love my ATG! Good scissors and a good paper trimmer are also the first things I pack for every crop! Love my distress inks and since I don’t always like my handwriting, I love my old portable typewriter
My must have is definitely a good cropping tool. A must have.
Great list!! My top 5 would be: trimmer (I have the same one you do!), precision tool, archival pens, precision scissors, and my Cricut (I use this for everything!!!)!
Paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive, punches and stickers
I guess my all time go to tool is my Big Shot – I love that thing! I’ve never tried an ATG, but have been noodling on getting one – may have to try it!
Agree for the most part… trying to use die cuts more. However, your other 4 picks are spot on for me.
Paper Trimmer, Tim scissors, ATG, & a good stapler are key!
I LOVE my ATG ! I resisted for so long because I didn’t think I would like it and then when I finally got it I said why did I wait so long!! I agree with these must haves for sure!
Glue, I have 10 different types of glue and that is just for my paper crafts. And that doesn’t include the sticky dots. I need paper, scissors, ideas, embellishments and of course, tons of glue.
Hmmmm….hard to pick just 5! So many of my tools seem essential. But here’s my take on it at the moment: trimmer (standard and personal size), scissors (3 pairs at least!), my BigShot/cutting dies, my piercing tool (you’d be surprised how many uses there are for it!), and double-sided tape.
The ATG is new to me and looks worth a try
Love your list. Mine would be my ATG (I bought mine from a framing supply store long before they were sold at craft stores – still going strong!), my Silhouette, my fiskars trimmer, scor-tape, and my CTMH teflon scissors (any adhesive just slides off of these!!!) .
I think you pretty much nailed it! I would probably have to add my Sihouette Cameo too.
I love my ATG. Ionic scissors look like something I need to try. Thanks for sharing this information.
I have never had a die cut machine. Would love to try it. My paper trimmer & small scissors are my most important tools. I use them for every project!
I love my ATG and I love another AWESOME Scotch brand product that it’s also very inexpensive and lasts for a LONG time. “Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive”, it looks like white glue but it’s the perfect consistency, provides a very strong bond, dries quick and clear! It used to have a “stand” type cap to keep it upside down and ready to flow but they did away with it, which I think it’s a mistake. Otherwise it’s PERFECT! LOVE IT!
As a card maker, my favorite go to’s are my paper cutter, scorer board, small scissors similar to yours, pop-up dots , and my new Big Shot. Still working on the adhesive issue. Some are too liquidy and some aren’t strong enough. I sometimes find just using a glue stick is easiest, and stronger glues for the embellishments.
My favorite papercrafting projects are cards. I enjoy making them & other items for the nursing home. I like other crafting also. But more cards than anything else. My 5 must have tools are a paper trimmer, The Tim Holtz Scissors, an Xyron adhesive (I love the sticker maker , the mega runner & the 3 & 5 inch machine the most !) , a scoreboard, my cuttlebug.
I recently picked up that exact ATG. I cannot wIt to use it. It has been in my desire list for a long time. I’m also like you, I have several paper trimmers too, That work great. But they were very old style and I am afraid when I run out of the replacement blades I’m going to have to look for a new one here sooner or later. 🙂
Thank you for all your great recommendations. They are going to come in handy!!!
Becky, scrapping for 20 yrs, surely you were just a toddler when you started! Remember, never old just experienced, lol! Not tried the ATG but looks like something to consider! Never run out of paper or adhesives! Those are the basics! Even my hubby buys craft items for me!
Three out of five for me, Atc to big and bulky for me. Had one sold it. I use my Teresa Collins tape runner. Perfect size. Die cutting machine, paper trimmer and love Tonic scissors. I actually never used a stapler. Must try it. ThanKS for sharing.
I agree – these are definitely the basics! Love my Fiskars paper cutter!
Yes, these are 5 “must haves” for any crafter. Thanks for sharing.
Of course you need more than one paper cutter! There could be a paper cutting emergency!
Awesome products for crafters!!
Great products, who couldn’t use an update of old tools, these are all go to items for my paper crafting!
Awesome products and must haves for all crafters!!
I have tried the ATG but with carpel tunnel, not so good, but I do have a drawer of adhesives that I love. Waiting for April to be in Pomona and see all the new products.
The ATG gun is my must have! The other’s are my friskers cutter, xyron’s (I have every size they have made) , mini and regular adhesive squares ( for smaller and tiny paper embellishments) and liquid adhesives.
I really want to try the big adhesive gun. I am forever running out or looking my little ones. I could not live without my paper cutter!!
I agree with your top 5. I have a very old Big Shot that could use an update. I also use a ruler to make sure my projects line up correctly. Another necessity is a small Ott light. I am recently retired and am enjoying spending more time crafting.
I’ve never used an ATG, would love to try one. ?
I see a lot of people use the AGT, not sure if it is for me. I would try it but I don’t want to invest in something I may not like.
I waited too and now I wish I had bought one years ago. It works like a charm and the adhesive lasts sooooo much longer than the small ones. It is just a wonderful tool.
The ATG gun & the Fiskars trimmer are two of my most used tools. I wouldn’t want to have to craft without them.
TOP 5: ATG, Big Shot, Paper Snips, Fine Tip Tweezers & Paper Trimmer
ATG, tombow, stampers secret weapon, scoreboard, big shot & one more is a pick tool
Top 5: Big Shot, 3L Adhesives, Tonic Scissors, Tonic paper cutter, and ScorPal
My Top 5: Silhouette Cameo, ATG, Cuttlebug, Tweezers, Fishers Paper Trimmer. ?
I love using the Silhouette and my ATG!
I agree! I have all 5 items, but brand wise I have a Big Shot. A few others I use lots; Cameo, Fiskars tweezers, Silhouette Pick Me Up, score board, TH stamping platform, and a needle point pick. 🙂
My favorite tools are my ATG, Big Shot, MISTI, tweezers, and Score Pal. Of course my list does not end there 🙂
ATG is a must. Love my tool that pokes holes and sets brads. But what I use more than anything is a RULER!
My ATG, Big Shot, Tim Holtz Distresser tool, Fiskars paper trimmer, and Vintage Photo Distressed Ink
I have an ATG gun but find the adhesive keeps working it’s way off the rollers – any suggestions
I love my ATG gun, I have all five of these.
Scrapbooking has come a long way over the years, when I first started I didn’t have acid free paper trimmers, Sizzix , Arg gun etc. I love all the extras now but my most dependable items the ones I use most are my creativity, a good pair of scissors and adhesive. By the way we used to call it glue. When someone first asked for some adhesive I didn’t know what they were asking for.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Fiskars paper cutter. When it is working well I love it, but too often the blade falls out when I pull the bar up and sometimes it sticks in the runner. A little secret that most people do not know is that Fiskars paper cutters come with a lifetime replacement warranty. They have replaced parts for me and even the entire cutter, so I put up with the problems.
Top: adhesive, black & brown fine tip pen-marker, paper trimmer & friends 🙂
ATG gun, Fishers trimmer and my guillotine cutter, and my Big Shot!
My Top 5: trimmers, adhesives, Creative Memories Multipurpose Tool, Cuttlebug, and ideas!
My top 5: adhesive, Big Shot, Tonic scissors, tweezers, paper cutter
love the tools
My 5.Cuddlebug,trimmers, adhesive, scissors, and Mist. Don’t if I would like the ATG
I can’t live without my reverse tweezers and a good bone folder.
Love these tools!
I know women that swear by the AGT glider. I like the fact that you don’t have to stop often to refill it. It seems to go on forever. I would love to have one.
The ATG dispenser is awesome … and easy to reload and use. Love i.
I agree with all your picks. I like your die cutting machine because although my Big Shot works well, it does take up a lot of space and I would like one that folds away. Maybe someday. . .
Great tools. I sure could use these in my scrap tote. Thanks for the chance to win!
I have several trimmers and use them all. You can never have enough trimmers. I also love my Tim Holt tonic scissors and mini stapler. I love all tools and when a new one comes out I feel I should buy it…..yes I have a problem 🙂
Wonderful tools, I need all of them!
All those items are great things to have in your stash!
Pokey tool. And all listed above. Needed stuff not want needed.
I have a ATG gun I have the same problem with the tape off the roller as
Rebekah do…Anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem Thanks in advance.
Love my ATG!
I’d love to try that ATG, maybe my next buy. My top 5 are: Stampin Up scissors, Big Shot, pick me up tool, adhesives and paper cutter.
Any of these products would be great to try!
Great Tim Holtz Tonic Serrated scissors. Love them
1) Cuttlebug hands down!, 2) Martha Stewart scoreboard, 3) Misti, 4) Fiskars paper trimmer, 5) Heat gun for embossing.
Top 5: trimmer, Cricut machine, variety of adhesives, border punches and a sharp detail scissor are musts on my list!
I would love to win these products. My embossing machine handle broke recently and I would love to try the stapler. A scrapper can never have too much adhesive. Any of these products would be wonderful to win.
These are amazing tools…I broke my cuttlebug I used it so much!
?
Yes, I agree that the ATG is terrific! Thanks for the opportunity to win1
🙂 Marie
I’ve being crafting on and off for about 4 years and my top 5 are Martha Stewart scoreboard, Fiskars paper timmer,ATG gun, Big Shot and I recently purchased the Tonic Studios scissors.
great post! i always learn something here, thanks.
Great items would make a great addition to my craft supplies hope I win
I have never used a die cut machine. Is it easy?
You really hit the mark with your essential crafting tools. Each one is indispensable in my opinion. Would love, love, love to win this.
I love my ATG gun she is right after you purchase it is comes out to be very cheap here are my other favorites cricut cutter, tweezer bees, big shot, 3-Dadheasive.
The Fiskers paper cutter is the best. I would love to have all of these products to use for my crafting.
What an awesome package of goodies! I could all of it to good use!
I have looked at the ATG many MANY times and just haven’t invested. A friend of mine just got one and I got to use it….fell in love…. <3
Now I need one.
Is true the tonic scissors don’t stick to anything. That would be amazing for cutting tape sticker paper
and anything with glue
You can never have enough tools for your crafting because we know the right one makes it better and easier. So when your collection gets so big, donate. There are so many who appreciate what they get and your prize possession lives on giving others the same joy.
i sure could use these!
I love my Fiskars paper trimmer. I’ve been afraid of the ATG – seems so big! I do believe in a really good pair of tiny scissors – for those little itty biddy snips we need to make sometimes. I also have a REALLY good bone folder close. I like a blunter point. Sharper points tend to tear the paper. I have a Martha Stewart natural bone one. What a great set of tools you showed us!!
I would love any of these tools
Have had some of my tools so long they need replacing. This group would make me very happy!
These are great tools!!
Yes, we share the same top 5. I too have been scraping for 20 years. yikees
I can could definitely use any of these tools!
I only have you beat by a few years. I bought my first rubber stamp in 1971, still using it. Still have my first Big Kick from the 1990’s, works great. I have 4 or more Fiskars paper trimmers, I have kids (and a grandson) so my sometimes grows legs and wander off. My hands now have RA so I had to give up my cutter bee scissors for tonic spring cut nice and pointy. I still keep my tombow tape runner close but I mostly use Art Glitter dries clear. My style of crafting uses lots of hand made paper flowers, tape doesn’t work too well on holding them together. My only addition foam dots got to have them.
My Fiskars paper cutter is on the of very first. A real antique. I sure could use a new one.
Thanks for the opportunity!!! This is awesome.
Cool gadgets that would make scrapbooking and cardmaking easier….
Paper trimmer, running adhesive, glue pen, twizzers, and scissors are my top 5 items.
Any of these items would be a welcome addition. Love my ATG.
My favorites: big shot plus, cutterpede, cutter bee (Teflon coated), glue glider pro, and McGill shaping tools for shaping my heartfelt creations flowers.
I would call the same top 5
I had to laugh at your most needed items, but only because they are also mine except for the stapler. I think pop-up would be my fifth item.
Tweezers! You can’t get little pieces in the right place without them.
The Fiskar trimmer and the ATG are my favorite tools. They stay on my desk always.
To 5: Black Ultra-fine Sharpie (for journaling) , cutting pad, fine-tip glue bottle ,paper cutter, and sticky pick-me-up. Would love to try the Tonic scissors and the stapler…
I love my ATG for big projects because it never seems to run out of tape runner. I use a small tombow for my everyday projects. The ATG gets heavy after using it too much.
I love the scissors and the trimmer. I don’ have the others but they do sound great….
I use the ATG gun at home, some similar individual roles are packed in my go-bag, my Sizzix Sidekick and my large cutter, but I would love a smaller cutter tool, Tim Holtz scissors and the Spellbinders die cutting machine. That would be ideal.
I have wanted a mini stapler but haven’t seen one recently. Definitely agree with all these Top 5.
I am not sure about the atg gun, except it would get a work out in my craft room, the trimmer is one of the best I have ever used.
I agree with your choices, but I have a problem with the ATG gun, and maybe it’s just me. The round orange wheel that the tape rolls on is very wide, and the thin tape seems to ride on the very edge, sometimes going off the edge! How do I keep it on?
Love these top 5. The paper trimmer is the best
I don’t have an ATG, as I use Art Glitter Glue instead. Love my Fiskars Cutter, Tim Holtz scissors – I have all 3, with my Cutter Bee Scissors, my Tim Holtz ruler, my Martha Stewart Scorboard, ek tools bonefolder
The ATG gun I use all the time. It makes card making and scrapbooking so much easier.
So much fun to see & learn about new products and learn new ways to use tools I have!! See you at 2018 expo in AZ!
The Tiny Attacher is genius!!!!
I need a die. Cutting to make all of the fun things.
My top 5 that I cant live without…Heavy Duty Fiskars Paper Trimmer, Tim Holtz scissors (have 2 sets of all three sizes), 12″ Centering/Measuring ruler, Silhouette Cameo and Evolution Manual Die Cutter
An ATG is on my list, dying to have one. My top five have to be, Fiskars Paper Trimmer, Big Shot, Cameo, and the good ole’ Heat Gun!
My top five items for crafting include, paper cutter, good scissors. die cutting machine, score board & a good adhesive.
I have a Fiskars paper trimmer I would not trade. I have had it since scrapbooking was just starting out. Also I use my scoreboard pretty regularly. The others are kind of dependent on my project. Would say my Platinum die cutter, Art glitter glue and Miracle tape would round out the five.
I definitely NEED a new die cutting machine, but am not sure which one to get. I also need a stapler, but like you, I have always felt a “regular” stapler was too big, cumbersome & heavy…..I love your stapler (and where can I get one?). I do love my ATG …….except when the replacement tape wants to spool the wrong way! Arghhhhhh, so frustrating!
So many cool tools. It is amazing how much paper crafting has changed and grown. Creativity abounds.
I have the ATG and loved it for many pages/refills, but then the refills started sliding off the side. Instead of transferring/rolling from the adhesive side to the used side evenly, it would transfer a little off (just slightly higher), eventually making a cone and then sliding off. I was continuously having to fix the tape. Gave up. Still have it. Would love to know how to stop that from happening! It used to be a #1 favorite of mine!
These are the most important tools to have in your toolbox. I have used my trimmer so much that I am on my second one. Having tools like adhesive, tweezers, small scissors and cutting tools you just couldn’t be a true craftier without them.
What a great package – could come in VERY helpful with ALL of my crafting!!!
Who wouldn’t love these awesome tools!!??
Great tools!
Would love to win these tools! I love tools of all kinds.
I agree with your Top 5, except I have not done any stapling in my cardmaking as yet. Would love to win all of these as you can never have too many cool tools.
Love the top 5, I have all but one, the die cut because i have a Silhouette. What I need is an embosser, surprised it didn’t make the cut.
Awesome must have products for all crafters.
Wow what an awesome collection!
I do not have a die cutting machine. The Spellbinder looks like a great one! Would love to win one!!!
Wow, would love to try any of these products. I’ve been scrapping for 22 years and have other products and would love to try new ones!!!
I also have an antique” paper trimmer. I find the Fiskars blades stay sharp longer than other brands. My aging eyes would benefit from the printed numbers on this trimmer model!
I love cool tools . I am lacking a few of them so need to buy them now. Thanks fir sharing
Tools make crafting so much easier!
Love all the tools! I use my Cuttlebug all the time, a Tonic paper cutter, a small pair of Fiskars scissors for fussy cutting, and a Scor-It tool for scoring my cardstock! My 5th one is my double stick tape. Those are the items I keep within reach when I’m crafting!
These tools would be great to have. Thanks for sharing.
Woweee…Amazing! Would love to have these tools. Thank you!
You hit the nail on the head. These are definitely the best must have tools. I have the
Nice prizes. Yes I want to win them. Thanx
One thing I can not do without is my 25 year old Mrs. Grossman’s tweezers. They are a set of lethally sharp bent angle tweezers that are perfect for handling small decorations. Sadly they are no longer made.
Awesome choices! I love all of these! I would add the Tonic paper cutter I have that is a guillotine style cutter. It’s a small one and I use it a lot for trimming!
My other favorites are my small Fiskars scissors for fussy cutting, a Scor It board, my Mini MISTI and a Fiskars metal edge ruler!
I just purchased this Fiskas trimmer, but would certainly love the scissors and stapler. Love card making for nursing home residents.
This Fiskar trimmer is so great! It has a thin rod of metal down the blade guide which tells you exactly where you are cutting!
My five, I agree that my Fiskars paper trimmer, ATC gun, die cutter – mine is a Sizzix. I also like my Tonic scissors (they make Tim’s), mine are the smaller size, I like them because they have “teeth” to cut ribbon better, I believe Tim’s have “teeth too. Lastly, I love my scoreboard, mine is MS, now by EK Success. These are my go to, have for home & in my go bag. I also have lots of other tools that I use often.
The tools you listed are also my top 5 — but I have a few other “must haves” that I always take with me: my tweezers, my ruler, my magic eraser to remove adhesive, dimensionals to add depth to layers, and my paper piercer (gotta have these when removing intricate dies). I keep all of these tools in a little plastic box the size of the old video cassette movies. I loved that you “need” the same tools!!
I too have a fiskars trimmer, but the old big one. My cricut is on my desk and I really love it. Also, a big shot pro. I use several pairs of scissors, including the cutest pair I got at expo last year in a class. Still I haven’t bought the ATV but seriously considering it now. Tired of all the little tape runners. I go through a ton of them!
Love all the products and enjoy having friends over to scrapbook with me. We would certainly be thrilled to have these products. Thanks for sharing.
I certainly appreciate you sharing your favorites and would love to be able to share these items when I have friends over for a afternoon of scrapbooking. I live in a 55 and older community and scrapbooking means so much to us.
Some of these are my favorites too! Some I may need to add to my accessories.
I do love the ATC gun. It saves buying so many of the smaller tape runners. I love my Cutter Bee scissors and tweezers too and I’m in the market for a new paper trimmer. I’d love to have this Fiskars model. One thing I absolutely cannot life without is UnDu l! I’m always using it to fix accidental mistakes or if I decide to move things around. It loosens the adhesive, and doesn’t hurt your papers or photos. Thanks for sharing!
I have an older model ATG but struggle with the adhesive staying on the rollers – what do you think I am doing wrong. Maybe I need a new one
I have the same ATG in this picture but I got it when it first came out many many moons ago. They have updated since I got mine and I have noticed that mine has started to not hold the tape in very well. I use mine ALL the time so I think it’s time to buy a new one. I’m getting the same brand but I know they have fixed a few kinks since they had first come out
I must agree with your favorites except the stapler, I have not had the pleasure of using one on my layouts so my favorite fifth tool that I cannot live without is my Lil Chizler, place a sticker incorrectly and the Lil Chizler takes it right up, your photo is crooked the Lil Chizler will take it up for proper placement and all without tearing your item. Thanks for sharing your favorites.
1. I use my OLD Fiskars paper trimmer every day!
2. I also use a small pair of Fiskars straight-handled scissors–especially for fussy cutting. The straight handles guarantee that my hands do not get fatigued.
3. Double-sided adhesive: tape, pop dots, foam tape–a variety.
4. Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue. I use for gluing card stock on chipboard mini album bases.
5. Crop-a-dile hole punch. I find this indispensable for making mini albums and chip board banners.
Since my attention span appears to be getting shorter and shorter, I make mostly mini albums these days. I have many that are three (double-sided), four, and five pages long. I give them to friends, relatives, and grand children. I recently gave one to my father, who is suffering from dementia .It was filled with pictures in a chronological progression from his younger years to the present. He looked and looked at it. He kept returning to it and looking at it some more. He said it was on a very good subject!
