Multi-Fold Card Tutorial

I really like this card format – just not sure what to call it.  It’s a tri-fold, but not the typical tri-fold format we normally see.  So, I’ll call it what the designer called it – a multi-fold card.

The punched front edge is really clever – scroll down to learn how to make this card . . .

For the base card I started with an 8 ½” x 11” piece of white cardstock. I scored down the center lengthwise and then scored at 2 ¾” from each of the 8 ½” sides.  I cut out the two side rectangles created by the score marks on the top half only and trimmed off ¼” along the top of the remaining flap before using a border punch to create a decorative edge.

I used a mixture of light yellow, green, and three different coordinating decorative cardstocks to create layers to decorate the outside of the top flap, the two remaining side flaps, and the inside middle of the card.

The images I used areMushroom PatchNature’s Dragonfly, and Nature’s Butterfly.  I stamped them withRich Cocoa Memento Ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them out.  Using a glue pen, I addedFascination GlitterImagination GlitterParisian Mist Glitter,Priceless Peacock Glitter, andSunny Daze Glitter to various areas of the images.

For the front of the card I created a mini card using a swirly frame die cut.  I used the word Nature and the cut out dragonfly on the front and the sentiment from the Simply Beautiful Set and the dragonfly image on the inside.

Before adding it to the front of the card I wrapped some sheer ribbon around the closed card base and tied a bow to help hold the card closed.

When you lift up the front flap, it reveals the two side flaps.  I added the cut out Mushroom Patch to the top flap, along with two border strips, created by adding a strip of cardstock down the center of 1/4″ Double Sided “Tear-ific Tape” and adding Parisian Mist Glitterto the revealed edges.

For the inside of the card I added a light yellow lace rectangle die cut and another mini card.  This mini card is the size of the die cut center and has layers of coordinating decorative cardstock and green on the front.  Simply Beautifulis stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and the cut out butterfly is added.

Inside I stamped Enjoy The Moment, along with the butterfly and dragonfly

Try to stay cool this week!!
