Snowman Card

When I think of winter I immediately think of snowmen. They just bring a smile to my face.  I am very excited to share these beautiful cards that where designed by Laurie Schmidlin.

Since its beginning to look a lot like Christmas I thought this would be a perfect project for this article.

Laurie  started by stamping each of the four snowmen  images, all are from the Groovy Snowman set from JustRite Stampers onto Kraft cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

She colored the images in with her Copics, the white on the snowmen is actually a “paint” from Copic. She then stitched around the patterned paper and on some cards did some “messy” stitching for added texture.

Laurie then used the same snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder for each of the cards.  After running the kraft background layer through the Cuttlebug,  she then rubbed on some Vintage Cream pigment ink. I love how this made the snowflakes just pop.

While the  embellishments vary a little bit from card to card, they all have the same lace and Vanilla taffeta ribbon. Now that you have fallen in love with Laurie’s designs, you can see more of her lovely creations on her blog Just Give Me Stamps

Stamp set originally price at $16.95. I have seen it recently for about  $5.00

Cuttlebug Emboss A2 – Snowflakes – JoAnn’s on sale for $2.99 the day I was writing the article.
