Framed: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit . . .

It’s the time of year that we like to add patriotic decorations in our homes. This darling holiday frame accent is perfect for your living room table, or even your front entry way table. This is a perfect time to pair these fun chipboard shapes from Want2Scrap with Authentique’s new americana line “Pride” to create this adorable accent for your home.

Audrey began by painting the chipboard shapes with white acrylic paint, and once it dried she inked the edges of both pieces. For the larger chipboard she added a touch of color to the scallops. The smaller shape she gave a light edging with brown ink. If you like to blend the ink together, here is a super easy tip… Simply wet your finger and run it across the inks. It works well on painted surfaces, but does not work well on paper.

Hand-cut or die cut a circle of blue star patterned paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Bundle to fit the inside of the smaller chipboard shape. Lightly distress and ink the edge and machine stitch using red thread for a decorative touch. Adhere the paper circle to the center of the chipboard shape.

Die cut a circular tag from polka-dotted patterned paper, and edge with brown ink. Adhere ruffled trim to the back of the tag.

Affix the tag to the chipboard shape using foam adhesive for dimension. Tie trim through the hole at the top of the tag.

Take the cardstock sticker from the sticker sheet “Life,Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” and dip the back with mica glitter. Adhere sticker onto a die cut, then apply both to the chipboard shape using foam adhesive for dimension.

Embellish with Want2Scrap adhesive pearls and rhinestones. Add a button to the center of the bow.

Adhere the embellished chipboard shape onto the large chipboard piece using foam adhesive.

Cut a rectangle from the leftover chipboard packaging, and adhere it to the back of the frame using a small strip of Want2Scrap canvas sheet. The canvas is flexible enough that the stand can move and lay flat for easy storage.
