Adjust The Sails

As summer begins to draw to a close, I thought you might enjoy a little nautical-themed inspiration. This gorgeous card was designed by the very talented Karan Gerber. Any time you need a burst of inspiration, I highly recommend stopping by Karan’s blog!

Adjust The Sails

Karan started out using a 5X7 card base and layered it on top of the corrugated cardboard which brings it to 7.5 X 5.5. The paper collection used is titled Balmy Breeze by Heartfelt Collections. This really is the perfect collection for your summer-themed projects. The stamp set is also from the Balmy Breeze collection and is  titled High Seas. Karen stamped the image on watercolor paper and then used the Ranger Distress Markers to add color.

The lighthouse and anchor are from the Nautical 6 piece set by Creative Embellishments. I love these lasercut chipboard shapes and how Karan brought them to life by covering them in gesso and using a brick template and texture paste to create all the yummy dimension. She then used one of the Tattered Angels four step paint systems and used the same technique for the anchor.

The gorgeously intricate die is titled Heirloom Legacy and is from Spellbinders. I love how Karin accented the die cut with some of Want 2 Scrap’s mini pearls.

I hope you’ve been inspired to send someone special one of your handmade creations!

Thanks for the visit and I wish you a very creative day.
