Today’s inspiration piece which was designed by Leslie Ashe has Teresa Collins’ chic style written all over it. I love Teresa’s “Hello My Name Is” Collection. How perfect is this timeless line for your everyday memories.
For this gorgeous layout Leslie used one of Teresa’s must have transparencies & layered it over the photo. So subtle, yet I love how it adds to the photo. Then she attached the transparency to the photo using a staple in the upper left corner. No need to measure, I like the fact that the transparency is slightly larger than the photo, it adds to the fun carefree style of this page.
The border was created by trimming 3 strips 3×12 inches long & then using a decorative border punch on the ends & adhering them directly on to your background. Leslie punched out 6 hearts using a medium sized heart punch and then aligned them down the side of the layout adding to the decorative border.
This layout is a perfect example of how the right embellishments can really take your layout to the next level. Check out all the fine details that make up this page, the transparencies, the pieces that were lovingly chosen from the ephemera kit, the banners, wooden pieces and stickers are all perfectly layered without overpowering the simple black & white photo. And let’s not overlook the hand journalling on the right side of the page. I don’t know about you, but I very rarely hand write on my pages as I don’t like my handwriting, but this is an important part of scrapbooking an should be sprinkled in as often as possible. It’s part of who we are.
Isn’t the “Hello My Name Is” line gorgeous? I think I need to go out & take some Black N White photos; how about you? Don’t laugh, you know you’ve been there, taken photos to accommodate a gorgeous scrapbook collection. 🙂 Or is it just me?
