Dream Canvas

Do you love the look of mixed media projects but don’t know how to get there? Today’s post designed by Tina Walker editor of A Dog’s Life Blog might just be perfect for you. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit any time you need a burst of inspiration.

I love the beautiful textured background. Tina started out using 2 different stencils & applied Glitter Paste directly on her canvas and then it dry. If your impatient like me, you can speed things up with your heat gun. The glitter paste does dry pretty quickly.

My favorite part is adding the color. Tina used several Tim Holtz distress stain daubers in Broken China, Weathered Wood & Bundled Sage. On the small canvas she also added some Antique Linen distress stain. Keep adding and blotting until you have the look you like.

Wrap some hemp twine around the small (3″) canvas before layering onto the larger (4 “) canvas. Adhere the butterfly ephemera & the cute light bulb from Tim Holtz as the butterfly body.  If you’d like to see Tina create this project, she has a great video tutorial on her blog just click here. Thanks Tina for sharing your beautiful design.

I hope today’s project has inspired you to give mixed media a try. I do warn you, it is addicting.

Thanks for visiting & I wish you a very creative day.
