These sweet little bunnies are such a breath of fresh air after a long bleak winter. They are made up from the wonderful spring collection “Promise” from Authentique. What a great way of adding some festive cheer for your home decor for the season. When you see bunnies it automatically makes you think of Spring!
These little bunnies can be all dressed up with lot of pretty embellishments, or you can just leave them plain. Let’s get started!
Using your favorite papers you will trace your pattern (template) onto your paper. For each completed bunny you will need to cut out two patterns. You can use the same print front and back, or you can mix them up.
Machine stitch around the outside of the bunnies using 1/8″ seam allowance. Stitch part way around the head, and then stop to add some stuffing. If you do this part in stages it is easier to reach the stuffing up into the head and ears. You can use an assorted items for stuffing the rabbit such as: polyfill fiber, cotton balls, torn up newspaper, or tissue paper. Use a ruler or wooden skewer to help push stuffing up into the rabbit. Don’t over stuff them, as you will end up with creases in your paper.
Continue to stitch and stuff until you have made it all the way around the rabbit. Edge bunnies with matching ink, and now you can have fun dressing them.
These sweet little bunnies have gingham ribbon and trim tied around the neck. Some swing tags were made from the Components die cuts sheet. The center of each bow is topped with brads, and a few die cut leaves made with papers from the 6 x 6 bundle pad. Be sure to distress around each of the bunnies, this gives it some character. So go ahead and give it a try, you will love the end result! A big Thank You to Audrey Pettit for sharing her incredible project. Audrey is an amazing designer for Authentique
