Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I have always loved to play with paper and tape. I have creativity on both sides of my family from oil painting, pottery making, sewing, photography, and quilting. My family of creative people inspired me – my niche happens to be paper. I also enjoy sports photography – it’s a way for me to stay focused on the game or meet and practice taking pictures! I enjoy this type of photography because not only is it a challenge to get the “right” shot, there isn’t the pressure in getting the “perfect” shot that I feel when I am taking posed pictures. I also love to read, go to the gym, attend my kids sporting activities, and sometimes SLEEP.

Favorite thing to create: I would definitely have to say I LOVE to create layouts. I create both 12 x 12 and 8 1/2 x 11. I place both in the larger 3-ring binders.

What do you love about scrapbooking/cardmaking? I enjoy just being creative. I am drawn to straight lines but also love the messiness of getting my hands covered in paint and mist. When I create I enjoy watching movies or shows on Netflix, I really do go somewhere else. The creative release of making something recharges me. I know it totally sounds weird but I LOVE to create things.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. My favorite super hero is Wonder Woman, I used to own a pair of Wonder Woman underoos… I thought when I was little I WAS Wonder Woman – my name is Diana after all! ;)
2. I’m genuinely a happy person, I get excited about the simplest things in life (good shopping find, goal accomplished, new haircut, etc.) if you are looking for someone to do a happy dance with you, I’m your gal!
3. I’ve been married to my best friend Matt for 18 1/2 years.
4. I served a mission for my church in Venezuela – so yep, I speak Spanish!
5. I LOVE trying new recipes off of Pinterest.

Here is Diana’s fabulous spotlight layout:

PHOTOGENIC by Diana Waite

I really love to challenge myself when I scrapbook. For this particular layout I challenged myself to scrap on a white cardstock background, I usually scrap on color so this was a challenge! I also challenged myself to use up scraps from other projects. The strip along the left side was cut from a 12 x 12 layout and I couldn’t just throw it away. The background paper behind the pictures was punched out for another project. I am pretty happy with how everything came together! My favorite things about this page would have to be the layering of the title over a clear polka dot sheet and then the patterned paper.

HELLO TODAY CARD by Diana Waite

This card was made back in 2012 and was chosen for the layering of the pretty colors. One of my favorite techniques is to sew, I feel like any project isn’t complete without a little bit of stitching!

EPIC STORY by Diana Waite

There are several things that I just LOVE about this page. Number one, of course, was I was able to capture my son setting a new personal record in the long jump – a VERY proud moment for he and I! My second favorite about this layout is the large title in black – who doesn’t LOVE a large title?!

Okay, this page was just FUN! I got messy with the painting of mist (another favorite technique I really love to use). Adhering the picture to this layout was a bit tricky as it had some texture to it; I used one of my favorite go tos: pop dots! Lastly, this picture was one my hubby and I took on the cellphone; the colors are horrible so I converted it to black and white and just printed it smaller. I truly LOVE this page – it brings back the excitement of watching a soccer game even though my daughter was out injured.

MY LENS by Diana Waite

Finally this layout (from 2011) I LOVE for the pictures. These two people are my parents – aren’t they ADORABLE? I took these pictures in one of my FAVORITE places in the whole world: Steilacoom, Washington. I can almost smell the wonderful smell of flowers and ocean. We had just come back from a walk and I wanted to get some pics of these two together – the one of my mom laughing is one of my favorites because that’s truly her, no posing.

SO much fun! Thanks for letting me feature you, Diana!
