Tissue Paper Hearts Card

Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am going to show you a fun way to use tissue paper on your next project.

For this card, I used my Cricut Cuttlebug™ machine and a heart die to cut out multiple hearts from orange, yellow, and pink tissue paper.

I spread some matte Mod Podge on a sheet of wax paper. I like Mod Podge because it dries clear.

I placed one of the hearts on the adhesive for a second or two then lifted it carefully off of the adhesive with some tweezers.

I placed the heart on a piece of patterned paper and then gently smoothed the heart out with my finger tip.

Note: Wet tissue paper can tear pretty easily, so it is best to do some test runs and get the hang of removing the shapes from the adhesive and placing them on the paper before starting your project.

I did the same with the next tissue paper heart, layering it over the first heart.

Tissue paper is a great way to add colors and shapes to your project while still allowing the patterned paper to show from underneath.

I was just curious,…when you were smoothing the MP lightly dipped hearts onto the background paper, did any of the MP come out around the edges of the heart and then show as a shiny area after it was dry?

Hi Linda. If the heart didn’t set right when I first applied it and I tried to move it, I did have that problem of the adhesive showing. But I didn’t have that problem when I was just gently smoothing out the hearts. It did practice a bit to get the hang of applying them to the paper before I started on my card.
