Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I am 38 years old and live by the ocean in sunny Adelaide in South Australia. I’m a wife to the world’s most patient husband, mum to two incredible children, and a children’s Art Educator at Little Picassos. Most of my days are spent in the studio either inspiring children to create and/or, painting, crafting, and designing for myself! I am extremely fortunate to have my dream ‘job’! I also have an Advanced Diploma in Montessori Studies and have been an Early Years educator for many years. My family is my sunshine, my light and are at the core of everything I create. I cannot remember a time of my life where I didn’t have a pencil or paintbrush in my hand, but I started scrapbooking in 2010. I realized that I had no childhood photographs (or documented stories) of my own to share with my children. Needless to say, I’ve become a documenting, memory keeping junkie!!! My style is fun, fresh, and contemporary with a feminine twist and usually features a little mixed media element too. My pages are always fresh, light and full of colour because they are a true reflection of my family life! I currently design for Cocoa Vanilla Studio, Paper Issues, and Imaginarium Designs Chipboard. I also have an exciting new DT announcement for 2017 – but I can’t share it yet! (So be sure to follow me for the latest news!) I guest teach once a month at Seriously Scrapbooking, and have been featured in numerous publications, scrapbook exhibitions, and even had my works featured at CHA. I feel very fortunate and thankful for my amazing life!

Favorite thing to create: This would definitely be 12×12 layouts, but I also love mini albums, OTPs, TNs, and planners too!

What do you love about this hobby? There are so many wonderful aspects of Scrapbooking! Firstly, it’s all about the memory keeping, but it’s also about losing yourself on a creative journey every.single.time you craft. I also love all the wonderful friends that I have made through scrapbooking – there are so many gorgeous creative souls that I just adore!!!

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. My fave colour is blue.
2. I love all things Harry Potter and The Hunger Games (actually I love books full stop!).
3. My dream vacation is to travel to France to visit Monet’s Gardens.
4. I prefer cats over dogs (but I have no pets!).
5. Coffee is my Spirit Animal (Ha! First the coffee, then the things).

Here is Amanda-Jayne’s beautiful new layout she made for this feature:

you-make-me-happy

YOU MAKE ME HAPPY by Amanda-Jayne Baldwin

This layout has been created with one of my favourite collections, Paige Evans’ Fancy Free collection with Pink Paislee. It’s fun, bright,a nd bursting with colour – just like my subject in the photo! And with all that colour, I just had to use a black and white photo for a focal point and to provide balance. Love a little mixed media watercolour, and gelatos fun, too! 😉

Here are four more of Amanda-Jayne’s colourful creations:

Another bright and happy layout created with Fancy Free for the Paper Issues store. The playful colours in this collection are a perfect match for my sweet two riding the Carousel.

Created with the gorgeous new Cocoa Vanilla Studio Endless Summer collection, lots of fussy cutting and a soft mixed media element too! Very feminine, fresh, and girly! Super pretty just like my darling daughter in the photo!

Evidence that sometimes less is more! This layout was also created for the Paper Issues store with Crate Paper’s Snow & Cocoa collection. I love the design of this one – the controlled alignment and clever layering, combined with that coordinating frame; just awesome!

Created for Imaginarium Designs chipboard and using the super fun Dear Lizzy: Saturday collection, this layout is also about my boy, the bright, bold, and colourful child! Love it!

I hope you’ve been inspired by Amanda-Jayne’s creations and will visit her blog and instagram (and more!) to see everything she creates – it’s all golden!
