Stenciled Watercolor Winter Card

Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a card I created using a watercolor paint set and a stencil for my background.

I started with some watercolor paper, a Crayola® Washable Watercolors set, a paintbrush, and the Moroccan Adhesive Stencil from Momenta®.

I placed the stencil over the watercolor paper.

After wetting the paper with my paintbrush and some water, I started adding color.

I started in the middle and worked my way outward. I added a darker blue and purple towards the bottom left corner and a lighter blue with more water towards the upper right corner to achieve a gradient look going from dark to light.

After coloring the whole panel, I removed the stencil and let the panel dry completely.

I found some older Doodlebug Design Snow Biz cardstock stickers in my stash that I wanted to work with, but the colors were more muted than my watercolor background. To tone down the color and add a “snow” effect on my winter-themed card, I added a layer of dotted vellum over the panel.

I decorated the card with some die-cut flowers and snowflakes, cardstock stickers, glitter brads, and ribbon.

I just love this color combination and the fun design that I achieved with the stencil and watercolors.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and thanks so much for stopping by!
