Freebie Friday – Therm O Web

Thermoweb - Music Notes card by Jen Walker

Freebie Friday with Jen Walker

Happy Friday Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends! I cannot wait to tell you about this week’s giveaway. Wow! These products are awesome! I think I have found a new hobby!  haha … well actually just a new love within a current hobby!

I have to admit, I have seen videos and blog posts about using foil for cards and other projects. It looks nice but I hadn’t really thought more about it. Now that I have had a chance to experiment with Therm O Web‘s Deco Foil line, I am in love. The Deco Foil collection makes creating projects with foil a breeze.

Therm O Web Deco Foil

For this post, I used a number of different Deco Foil products as well as a laminator. Each product produces slightly different results and serves a different purpose.

For this first card, I used the Deco Foil Toner Sheets. I used a Paper Smooches die to cut out the image in the toner sheet, pulled off the backing and adhered it to the cardstock.

Therm O Web - Hello card

After cutting the die cut, I covered the image with the deep blue foil and sandwiched it between parchment paper and ran it through the laminator.

Therm O Web - Hello card

Peeling the foil back off the cardstock I was in awe. Wow, the sparkle that came from the foil was amazing!

Here is the completed card. Isn’t it pretty!

The next product I used was the Deco Foil combined with a print out from my laser printer. This first photo gives you a bit of an idea of how much reflection happens with the foil. The first letter of each word is in gold and the remaining letters are lilac. These colours are beautiful!

Here is the art piece from a distance. The photo does not do it justice. I created this for my daughter who suffers from PTSD and she is absolutely thrilled with the finished piece.

For the next project, I used the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen and hand wrote the words Thank You on the card face. I then pressed the green foil to the adhesive and ran it through the laminator. I really like this idea. Being able to use an adhesive pen on a stencil or to draw and write as you so desire is super cool. I love how it turned out. It is like having a touch of me on the card, only cooler!

Next up I used the Deco Foil White Foam Adhesive. I wanted to show you some of the different colours that the foil comes in so I decided to create a polka dot butterfly. I placed squares of the deco foil onto the foam adhesive sheet and rubbed it together. I then used my circle punch to cut the circles. All that is left to do is to peel the backing off and stick it to your project. Love it!

This last card is a favourite of mine. Had I made this card before the holidays, everyone I know would have received one of these beauties!

This card was created using the Deco Foil Toner Sheets with a die from Simon Says Stamps. I love how it turned out. The foil creates such a fun and flashy appearance. I can guarantee you that I will be making lots more projects using Therm O Webs Deco Foil collection!
