One Card Three Ways: Stepping Up Your Designs

danielle-header

Today I thought I would show you some easy ways to “step up” your card making from simple and flat, to a little bit more detailed, or with additional technique for more “wow” factor!

The first card in the bunch is simply stamped with the Fancy Folk Art stamps by Papertrey Ink. I didn’t add any die cuts. The card is flat and the only dimension is from the different colors of stamping. Not too bad, right? But, let’s take it up one more notch.

The second card utilizes the Fancy Folk Art stamp AND the coordinating dies. I stamped the “Many Thanks” right on the die cut and then popped it all up with dimensional adhesive. I stamped the banner and cut it out and placed it over the top also. Again, it’s nice, but let’s see what else we can do with it to make it even better!

The third card has yet a couple more steps to it than the second. I used a blender foam pad and some aqua stamping ink to add an aqua background, which I think helps sets the design off just a bit more than the white background did. I added more color to the design by stamping the “Many Thanks” in aqua over top as well.

What do you think? Do you prefer the simple or the “stepped up” version?

I tend to enjoy the clean and simple version the most, although all are beautiful. You did not mention the coloring technique you used to create those beautiful, vibrant colors on the stamped image. Can you share?

Looks awesome. What a nice subtle difference. All are inspiring. Will have to give more thought to my cards. Even the inking behind really made a difference. Thanks for sharing this idea.
