Thinking Of You

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Welcome back, my crafty friends, I have some really great projects to share with you today.  You will be inspired to scrapbook, create beautiful cards, tackle a denim journal, and whip up something yummy in your kitchen for a wonderful treat!  Take a moment and sit back, relax and get motivated!

By The Sea By Alicia Barry

I am delighted to share this beautiful layout created by Alicia Barry, one of the fabulous designers for Heartfelt Creations. What first drew me to this stunning layout was how well the color scheme complements the fun photo.

By The Sea

This layout has a combination of fussy cutting and handmade flowers.  Fussy cutting some flowers will add a great accent to your handmade flowers. This is a beautiful example of perfect balance when designing a layout.  It is so important to scrapbook the special moments that we share with those close to us.  Remember that the secret to a lovely layout is to just dive in and have fun creating!  Click here and I will take you for the instructions and supplies to create your own layout.

Just Keep Swimming By Judy Rozema

Shaker cards are all the rage right now in the world of card making. They have that extra element that is sure to delight the recipient, whatever the age.  Children love them for the novelty and adults will cherish them forever!

Just Keep Swimming

I love shaker cards! I was happy that Judy Rozema shared this adorable shaker card; what a fun summer creation. If you are anything like me, you have oodles of sequins and beads in your crafting supplies, and this is such a fabulous way of using some of them.  There is so much to love about shaker cards since they are filled with sparkle and class. So with that said, grab your sequins and beads and let’s get shakin’!

Lovely Friend By Wanda Guess

You can create a very elegant look by using grey and black and adding a small amount of color to your card.  Use a water brush to move the color around on your paper to achieve the look you desire.

With the same design, you can create another version using bright colors and a different sentiment while you still have your supplies out!  You will be surprised how different the two cards will look just by changing the colors.

Thinking Of You

Wanda Guess created these beautiful designs by stamping and heat embossing the main image.  She used Kuretake Clean Color Brush Makers to achieve her color.  Wanda added some ink splatters and clear gems to complete the card.  Don’t you just love it when cards come together so quickly?  Be sure to stop by A Blog Called Wanda anytime you crave some serious inspiration. In the meantime, push yourself to try something new! 🙂

Denim Sea Journal By Anna Dabrowska

This denim mixed media journal will look beautiful sitting on your end table, or on an easel to add a touch of décor to your home.  Take it a step further and make it into a beautiful photo album. Jeans are often a real favorite to each of us.  What a surprise when you take your old, torn up jeans and turn them into something this beautiful!

Denim can be a really great base for mixed media.  Create your own base, or you can also purchase a Prima Denim Art Journal.  This is a great way to practice some techniques and play with mixed media mediums.  Just follow your inspiration!  Click here and I will take you over to a video that gives some guidelines on how to create your own beautiful denim journal.

Lemon Curd By Stacy Bryce

Lemon curd is a thick, soft, and velvety cream that has a wonderfully tart, yet still sweet, citrus flavor.  Seeing a jar of lovely yellow lemon curd in the refrigerator will brighten up anyone’s day! Serve this over shortbread, or try this tangy spread instead of jam for toast, English muffins, scones, or muffins.  This also makes a great filling for cakes, pies, and tartlets, too.

Lemon Curd

Lots of zest and juice gives the curd that delicious lemon flavor. Get the recipe from Wicked Good Kitchen, where Stacy will give you all the ingredients you’ll need to get started.

Enjoy your weekend, and remember to take some time for yourself to enjoy your summer!  Thank you for visiting our Weekly Scrapper today.  I hope you have been inspired with some new ideas. See you next Saturday!
