Sundays With Lorraine

Sundays-with-Lorraine

Hello and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! It’s officially summer now so I hope that you’re enjoying a nice, relaxing day. I’m honored to have the opportunity to share the following projects with you so sit back, relax, and enjoy, it’s time to get those creative juices flowing.

Adventure Awaits / Bella Blvd

I’d like to give a shout out to Missy for her constant generosity in sharing her gift as a scrapbooker. When creating layouts, pulling off lots of layers isn’t always as easy as it looks and, as you can see by this adorable layout, Missy is the queen of detail. When I look at a scrapbook layout I want to first be drawn to the photos, then take in all the beautiful surrounding details. The details and embellishments should complement the photo, not overshadow it, don’t you agree? Missy is perfect at making that happen!

This pages shows how it’s done, my scrappy friends – great photos, handwritten journaling telling your story, lots of texture, and visual interest without overpowering your priceless pictures. Keep up the amazing job of preserving your memories one page at a time. I highly recommend stopping by Missy’s blog Little Nugget Creations anytime you’re in need of some serious inspiration.

Shoot For The Moon by Laura Bassen

What a beautiful card! What first caught my eye was the encouraging sentiment “Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” What a perfect sentiment to encourage someone in need of some uplift. Laura really shows off her love of all that is inky on this inspirational beauty. Check out that seamless blend of inky goodness, its so pretty!

Look For The Miracles By Lucy Abrams

Here’s another beautiful card that’s full of inspiration and positive thoughts. I love how Lucy turned it into a shaker card by sewing a panel of acetate to the front of the card and filling it with that gorgeous crystal sequins mix from her amazing collection. Lucy’s shaker mix is so much more than just plain sequins – it’s a yummy mixture of sparkly sequins, confetti shapes, and seed beads that are available in dozens of different color combinations. They’re perfect for creating shaker cards, embellishing scrapbooking pages, using as table confetti… the possibilities are endless!

Altered Matchbook Box Draws By Donna Espiritu

Doesn’t it make you smile when you walk into your scrapbook room and come out with an adorable home décor piece? How cute would a set of these be to organize your tiny embellishments or to use as a little trinket box, or to use as a really cool gift box for a piece of jewelry? It would be like receiving a gift within a gift. 😉 (Sounds like you should make several just in case, so you have them on hand!)

Easy Crab Cakes Recipe

Growing up in Long Island, NY, fresh fish and summer always went hand-in-hand. Once summer hit, the crabs and clams where everywhere. If you don’t live on the coast where fresh seafood is available, not to worry. Thanks to the Taste Of Home blog you can still enjoy these yummy easy-to-make Crab Cakes.

Crab Cakes Recipe

Charlene used ready-to-go (canned) crabmeat which really speeds things up, but feel free to use fresh crab if you’re lucky enough to have it available. I love it when dinner can be on the table in under an hour.  Bon Appetit!

Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you back next Sunday!
