Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Take Me Away Collection

Paige-technique-header

My second collection with Pink Paislee called Take Me Away released last month and I’ve been having a blast cutting and pasting with it and thought I would share a few different techniques I’ve used featuring this collection!

I recently guest designed with the lovely UK-based monthly kit club called Like Forever which featured Take Me Away. There was also a free cut file included which I used as the focal element on this page. I die cut the title from one of the patterned papers in Take Me Away then used spray adhesive to attach it to a cardstock background with a bit of mixed media. I spent some time hand stitching around the title and then finished up with a photo and lots of layers.

This was another layout made for Like Forever and another free cut file! I hand stitched the hexagon background cut file and then filled in most of the sections with patterned papers and embellishments from Take Me Away. Treat each section like its own little piece of artwork and your layout will come together in no time!

I recently taught my first class using Take Me Away so I wanted to share some of my favorite techniques I turn to time and time again including backing an intricate cut file with lots of patterned papers!

More fussy cutting for the win! There are several floral papers in Take Me Away that are perfect for cutting out, which I did here, and had fun tucking and layering them underneath a pair of photos.

This globe cut file is from Kerri Bradford Studio and I loved cutting and piecing the papers together to make an overall rainbow of color and whimsy!

I enjoy browsing the internet and blogs and finding projects that use Take Me Away to pin to my Take Me Away Pinterest Board! If you’ve got a project made with it, I’d love to see, so paste the link in the comments below! THANK YOU!
