Adding Color to Black & White Elements by Missy Whidden
There is nothing like a beautiful watercolored background to make a black & white photo just pop. Missy used the Faith > Fear Collection by Illustrated Faith on this layout. The collection is entirely black & white which leaves your color options wide open. I love the contrast of this black & white collection. Click here and I’ll take you over for a peek of all the pieces that are available.
For more details click here and I will be honored to take you over to the Bella Blvd blog so you can follow along as Missy shares many tips and tricks on how easily this adorable layout comes together. Happy scrappin’!
You Are Amazing By Yoonsun Hur
Since we already have the watercolors out, I thought you might enjoy this sweet card designed by the very talented Yoonsun. Have you had the opportunity to play with Altenew multilayer stamps yet? They really take the guesswork out of creating a beautiful bold contrast, or you can use your favorite coloring medium for a soft and subtle look.
No matter what your style is, you are sure to fall in love with all the possibilities. Yoonsun stamped the image using Versa Fine Onyx Ink than watercolored the flowers with Distress Inks, but feel free to use what you have on hand. Have fun experimenting with different coloring mediums to alter the finished piece.
Mini Album By Suzz
What’s not to love about mini albums? They are the instant gratification of scrapbooking, not to mention they make the perfect gift for those special people in your life. With a little guidance from our crafty friend Suzanne, you, too, can whip up several of these little works of art for the holidays. Add a few photos and some meaningful sentiments and you have a gift that will be treasured for years to come. The large house in the set measures approximately 5″ tall by 3 5/8″ wide, which can easily handle of few carefully cropped pics and lots of stamping. After all, there is no better gift than the gift of memories, right?
I couldn’t resist sharing a 2nd photo of the inside. Be sure to stop by the Funkie Junkie Blog to check out the album in its entirety. You’re gonna love it!
I love the fact that Suzanne created her own mini album using the Tiny House Die by Tim Holtz. What a creative way to use the die. I must confess, I loved the die before but I haven’t purchased it yet. I was on the fence thinking how many little houses can one make, but when you add in mini albums – well that’s another story! After seeing what Suzanne did with this project It’s now on my list to purchase at our Sacramento show in a few weeks.
Creamy Lemon Parmesan Chicken Piccata
It’s lemon time in my neck of the woods (sunny southern CA) so I am on the hunt for ways to use them. My family and friends love this creamy chicken over pasta, but a piccata can be served over anything: rice, zucchini noodles, steamed vegetables, or anything else you can think of. Have fun making this dish your own.
Be sure to stop by and visit with Karina on her amazing food blog Cafe Delites; you and your family will be glad you did. Big hugs to Karina for helping us kick things up a notch or two in the kitchen. Bon appetit!
