Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Ribbon

Paige-technique-header

Ribbon is one of those scrapbooking supplies that has been around for decades and sometimes gets forgotten amongst the up and coming trends! Well, I’m hoping that after seeing these layouts you are inspired to dive into your ribbon stash and create something FUN! There are four spools of ribbon in Hobby Lobby that coordinate with my Oh My Heart collection with Pink Paislee and I and my design team each created a layout featuring these ribbons!

HELLO OSLO by Paige Evans

I trimmed strips of all four ribbon spools into little pieces as well as patterned paper pieces and then stitched them in three rows across a white cardstock background that I added mixed media to.

HERE’S TO NEW ADVENTURES by Missy Whidden

On this layout Missy shaped ribbon and paper pieces into a large star to create a stunning focal element on her background.

SMILE by Flóra Farkas

Designer Flóra Farkas highlighted the ribbons by placing them at an angle across a white background and stitched them securely in place with her sewing machine.

IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS by Stefanie Ried

And on this layout, Stefanie made cute little paperclip embellishments by folding and stapling the ribbon pieces onto clips! Too cute!

Have you made a layout with lots of ribbon before?! I would love to see!
