Handmade Valentines

Handmade Valentines by Becki Adams for @scrapbookexpo #ssbe2018 #cardmaking #SSBEblog #handmadeValentines

Hey Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here for another edition of Inspiration Station. The quiet days of January are finally here and its time to make handmade Valentines! After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season I’m always ready to get back into a routine. After putting my Christmas crafting projects away, I start creating a few Valentines projects. This year, I thought I would start with playing with the Love Notes collection by PhotoPlay paper to create a Z fold card.

This card base is created from white cardstock cut into a 4×12 strip. After cutting the cardstock I scored it at the 4 inch and the 8 inch marks. When the card base was scored and folded, it was time for the fun to begin. I love adding patterned paper and embellishments to my cards. Before I got too carried away with patterned paper and embellishments, I decided to create an interactive spinning element in the center panel. I used a circle die in the center panel and added a heart (hand cut) to the center of the circle with white string. I love the fun interactive portion of this card.

To both sides of the patterned paper heart I added heart stickers with pop dots. That added dimension made the spinning heart stand out even more.

This fun card was so easy to create AND has such a big impact. I can’t wait for February to get here so I can send this card to my nieces. I know they’ll love it.

Have you started creating your handmade Valentines? I’d love to see what you’re creating. Leave a link in the comments below or tag @scrapbookexpo on Instagram so we can see what you’re creating. Happy crafting friends, I’ll see you again next Thursday. Thank you for stopping by the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.

Hi Teresa, I used a strong liquid adhesive and adhered the string in between the patterned paper and the cardstock base. I hope that helps. If you need more details, let me know 🙂 ~Becki
